Extremely disappointing experience with terrible customer service at Niku Iku Bugis Junction today. I arrived around 10:55 AM and politely asked a male staff member (heavier build, pictured in my attached photo) if they were open for ordering. Without making eye contact, he completely ignored my question, tossed a QR code toward me, and bluntly told me to order through it. When I asked again if they were officially open, he simply said "11:00 AM." I waited patiently until 11:00 AM to place my order, but the digital menu system was still marked as "Closed." By 11:12 AM (picture attached), it was still inactive. I tried to get the same staff member's attention to ask about the delay. I said "hello" at least 5 to 6 times and even waved when he turned around and facing directly at me—yet he completely ignored me. Eventually, I managed to get the attention of another staff member, who claimed the delay was because the kitchen floor was wet and i am not sure what lame excuse that was. However, the team was already actively grilling and preparing food behind the counter, so it was confusing why orders couldn't be accepted. When I asked why I was told to order at 11:00 AM if they weren't ready, the staff member simply shrugged. Given the complete lack of basic communication, dismissive attitude, and total disregard for customers, I ended up walking away without ordering anything. I certainly won't be returning.

I went to Singapore for a business trip for a few days, and during my stay, we were looking for some good food around the Bugis area. While walking around the mall, we came across a stall called NiKu iKU and decided to give it a try. Honestly, after the first bite, I was impressed. The food was really good! The quality of the ingredients, portion size, and overall taste exceeded my expectations. Everything was well-prepared, and the flavours were balanced and satisfying. It was one of those meals that you don’t expect much from at first, but it turns out to be a memorable dining experience. Even after returning to Malaysia, I still found myself missing the food from NiKu iKU. The taste really left an impression, and I can understand why it attracts so many customers. It’s not just about having a meal, but also about enjoying a good combination of quality, flavour, and value. If you’re around the Bugis area and looking for a place with delicious food, I would definitely recommend giving NiKu iKU a try. It’s definitely a must-go spot for me, and I’ll be visiting again the next time I’m in Singapore. A hidden gem that I’m glad we discovered during this trip!

Disappointed. It's just overpriced "cai png" with ingredients that isn't well executed. Jap white rice not cooked well, was clumpy and not moist enough. Furikake provided only on one small part of the rice, not mixed in at all. Brussel sprouts add on was only half cooked, not even fully cooked, let alone well charred. Ramen egg is store bought type. Cabbage is plain and just a clump at the side. Zucchini was 2 slices. Chicken thigh is marinated and comes with skin, about 80g to 100g. Scan to order. Payment online. Will get a queue number. Wait was about 10mins to 15mins on a Wednesday 1.30pm. Service was minimal but decent. Place is staffed by Muslims and doesn't serve pork. No seats for dine in, only takeaway. Don't think I'll be back.

Always got Niku gobo nitsuke from different outlets (Clementi, Woodlands, Novena, Bugis, Paya Lebar) with no issues. At times the salmon was hard and very dry (the flat cut instead of long cut). Today, I saw many long cuts and asked if I could have that. However, the staff said that’s reserved for grill according to company policy. I’ve ordered many times with no issues, and because of this I had to turn away. Novena outlet staff however, was so kind and gave me the long cut. There’s really a difference in texture, long cut is much softer compared to flat cut. The staff at Bugis wasn’t particularly friendly. Also asked if I could add cabbage but he said there isn’t. However I was able to order it at Novena. Why the discrepancy? All outlets good but Bugis has to improve, if not I can forsee customer rates will drop.

My expectation may be higher given the high review score and price, but it turns out quite average to me. The beef is way over cooked and not "tender". Taste is a bit too cloying and i was having difficulty finishing the whole pack. Overall, i think its alright but there is nothing to be hyped about.

It is impressive when a brand masters the logistics of delivering high-quality protein at scale while maintaining a "premium" feel. There are so many intricacies involved in delivering the best version of proteins at this kind of scale. The food is the absolute star—meticulously prepared with a remarkable portion of meat given the price point. I love that they are constantly innovating their menu, and while I’d prefer a salad version without rice, I hear that is already in the pipeline. The carefully designed packaging, specifically the sturdy aluminum box with its clever heat-reducing paper wrap, makes the entire take-out experience feel premium. Great for parties, especially if you're looking to switch out the usual "pizzas, chicken wings, and fries" kind of nights with friends.
