Reputation Programme Terms

Reputation has no monetary value and is never exchangeable for cash, credit, goods or services. Points, tiers and labels are a record of contribution and a cosmetic status on your profile — nothing more. They are not a currency, not a balance, not property, and cannot be bought, sold, gifted or transferred between accounts.

HotPlace previously ran a rewards programme that paid small cash amounts for verified reviews, credited to an in-app wallet. That programme has been discontinued in full. The wallet, the payout rails and the identity-verification step that went with them have been removed from the product, and no further cash rewards are earned, held or owed.

We ended it deliberately, not to save money. Paying for opinions compromises the only thing this product runs on, and a reward you have to label as paid undermines the review it is attached to. Reputation replaces it: the same recognition for contributing, without the incentive to write what you think earns.

Three things earn points today:

• Publishing a review. Awarded once the review passes our content check and goes live.
• Helpful votes you receive. Credited to you as the author each time another person marks one of your reviews helpful.
• Completing a quest. One-off objectives that latch once per account.

Points never depend on what a review says. A one-star warning earns exactly what a five-star rave earns — we recognise firsthand contribution, never sentiment. Point values are set by us, may differ per action, and may change; changes apply going forward and do not restate points you have already earned.

• Tiers are reached at point thresholds and do not fall back on their own — a tier you have reached stays reached, unless it is revoked under section 5.
• Labels are claimable badges on your profile. Some unlock at a threshold; others are limited by supply, by a time window, or by being open only to newer accounts. A limited label can run out or close, and we are not obliged to reissue one.
• Which labels exist, what they require and how they look are ours to change as the product evolves.

Points are reversed when the contribution behind them goes away:

• You retract a review, or it is removed for breaching the Community Guidelines or our terms.
• A helpful vote on your review is withdrawn.
• We determine a contribution, a vote or a quest completion was fraudulent — including coordinated voting, duplicate accounts, fabricated reviews or spoofed locations.

Reversals are recorded rather than erased: the ledger is append-only, and a reversal is written as its own entry. Serious or repeated abuse may forfeit your reputation entirely and end your account.

• Contributing to HotPlace does not make you our employee, agent or contractor.
• Reputation carries no cash value, so nothing here is taxable income.
• The programme is discretionary. We may change, pause or end it at any time, and reputation does not survive deletion of your account.
• These terms are governed by Singapore law, like the rest of our Terms of Service.
