Delete your HotPlace account

Last updated 12 June 2026

You can delete your HotPlace account and the personal data that goes with it at any time. This page explains both ways to do it and exactly what happens to your data.

How to delete your account

From the app:Settings → Account → Delete account, and confirm. (If you don't see this option yet, your app version predates it — use the email route below.)

By email — no app required: write to support@hotplace.appwith the subject "Delete my account", from the email address linked to your HotPlace account (or include your username). We will confirm the request and carry out the deletion. You do not need the app installed to do this.

What gets deleted

Within 30 days of a confirmed request, we delete or irreversibly anonymise:

  • Your profile — username, display name, bio, profile picture.
  • Your email address and phone number.
  • Your bookmarks and search history.
  • Your follows and followers.
  • Your push notification tokens and notification inbox.
  • Your reviews and their photos — removed from public view and anonymised or deleted.

Signing in again before deletion completes may cancel the request.

What we must keep

Some records survive account deletion because the law or basic fraud-prevention requires them, as described in our Privacy Policy:

  • Financial records — if you earned or withdrew rewards, the wallet ledger and payout records are retained for as long as financial record-keeping obligations require. They are no longer linked to a public profile.
  • Identity-verification results — if you completed KYC for a withdrawal, the verification reference is retained as part of those financial records.
  • Anti-abuse records — minimal records needed to enforce prior bans or investigate fraud.

Unwithdrawn wallet balances are forfeited when the account is deleted, so withdraw anything you're owed first (minimum thresholds apply — see the Rewards Programme Terms).

Questions

Anything unclear, or want a copy of your data before deleting? Write to privacy@hotplace.app— you have the right to access your data under the PDPA, and we're happy to help before you go.
