Spent almost $100 for 2 and will never return. Partner says this place used to be popular with youngsters to bring dates because set menu is affordable. 1. Online order is not intuitive. I wasn’t aware I needed to pay before food gets sent to the kitchen. We sat there for 10 -15 mins. 2. Tabasco took some time to come and we had to get it ourselves. 3. Saveur pasta truffle oil was overwhelming. Average taste. Had capers. White asparagus was cold. 4. Onion soup was meh. Bread was stale in the soup. Not enough oomph. 5. Duck confit was dry 6. Barramundi was not bad but capers seen again. Repeated ingredients. 7. Pistachio ice cream was ok, and lava cake was also good. Surprisingly the desserts were beyond expectations. At this rate was expecting everything to go down the drain.

I like to start off by saying that it was my first time here and I like the place. It's a smart casual restaurant with music that is a bit louder. Even though it wasn't more than one third full, the discussions from other tables can be loud. Service was prompt and attentive. Now on to the food. Ordered the whole day set for dinner. Came with one appetizer, one main, one dessert and one drink each. APPETIZERS were amazing. Saveur pasta carrying the restaurant's name was to be expected. Angel hair that went really well with the truffle oil and the small fried shrimp. This was addictive. I would actually come back for this. Onion soup was amazing. Really tasty and the bread with melted cheese on top was a nice compliment. Turned soggy fast but still nice. MAINS. The mains is where everything falls. The appetizers really hyped up expectations which caused a bigger drop in disappointment. Lobster pasta. The pasta and lobster was a bit overcooked. That alone would fail it. The sauce doesn't pull you in like the Saveur pasta would. It's milder. The tomatoes aren't appreciated as it isn't so rich that it would need the acidity to break the monotony. Steak Frites. Steak was a bit beefy but it wasn't tough. It was alright. The fries are really nice. I imagine that truffle fries with it would be really great as it is well cooked. Crispy and airy. DESSERTS Pistachio ice-cream. My Wife thought it was too milky but I didn't think it was too milky. It's not as intense as it was milky but it wasn't overly so. What I like was the sugared roasted pistachio bits topping. Never had sugared coated ones before. Creme Brulee was alright with vanilla bean used. All in all, I still like the place so I'm giving it 4 stars. Maybe I'll be back to try their other mains. My Wife informed that their duck confit has great reviews but we did not choose it because she doesn't really like duck confit.

Went on a tuesday evening, had the Onion Soup, Duck Confit, Crème Brûlée, and Milk Coffee for ~40$. Magnifique. Great atmosphere. Great lighting. The utensils, especially the knife, were ergonomically efficient. The Onion Soup was nice and thick, and the duck fell off the bone when I carved it, having a crispy, tender and juicy texture, especially paired with the mashed potatos and gravy. The Crème Brûlée was a great finisher to the meal.

This French restaurant really captures the feeling of casual French dining. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food, which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered several of their signature dishes and had a great meal. We started with the angel hair pasta with truffle. The truffle flavor was strong and very satisfying. The foie gras was rich, fatty and full of flavor, exactly what you hope for when ordering this classic dish. The highlight of the meal was definitely the duck confit. The duck was well marinated and cooked perfectly. The skin was beautifully crispy. It was served on top of mashed potatoes that soaked up all the sauce and flavors from the duck, which made every bite even better. The beef dish was also very impressive. It had been marinated and cooked for a long time so the meat was extremely tender. The steak was pan fried nicely with a juicy red center. Overall the food quality here is easily 5 out of 5. The service, however, is not quite at the same level as the food. It is still good, but there is room for improvement to match the quality of the French cuisine. The restaurant was very busy, so we were glad we booked a table in advance. Service is 4 out of 5. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. It feels like a comfortable casual dining place rather than a formal restaurant. Atmosphere is 4 out of 5.

This restaurant offers very affordable meals, and the food itself is reasonably good for the low price point. It is a cost-effective option if you are looking for a budget-friendly dining spot. However, several aspects affect the overall experience. The dining tables are notably small, which makes it difficult to comfortably arrange plates and glasses, especially when ordering multiple items or a course meal. Furthermore, the level of service provided by the staff was below average, lacking general attentiveness and promptness. During my visit, I ordered the course menu, which included a glass of the house red wine. The quality of the wine did not meet standard expectations; I took only one sip and opted to leave the remainder on the table. In summary, while the solid food quality and inexpensive pricing are positive points, the cramped seating arrangements, inattentive service, and low-quality house beverage detract from the visit.

Had the Valentine’s Day course meal, and my partner and I were thoroughly impressed by the quality of the menu. The appetiser, pasta had a delightful aroma of truffle oil and the shrimp gave it a nice texture, the lobster bisque was flavourful with lobster chunks but would be better if the consistency was slightly thicker. The portions of the mains were filling, the duck was tender with a well seasoned salty peppery sauce, the salmon was well cooked with the iruka giving it a delightful salty taste. Desserts, the lychee sorbet was refreshing and the strawberries were sufficiently sour with a nice texture, the vanilla ice creams and chocolate puffs were also sweet and addictive. Overall, we were very impressed with the food and will return again. The staffs were also very friendly and polite, they remembered small details such as our preference for warm water and ensure to refill it constantly.

A birthday dinner was celebrated at the Saveur on Purvis. This French eatery lived up to its name when we ate on a Saturday evening czo the place was packed. We ordered 4 sets. The steak, 2 fish and the signature duck confit. Steak was very well cooked, still moist and tasty. The sauce that came with it was also great with onions in it. Duck confit was nice, also with flavouful sauce. Fish was however slightly bland and lacks punch. All sets came with starters like the French Onion soup and fois gras with desserts like our pistachio ice cream and creme brulee. Ambience at this place is alright. Quite nicely done up, but nothing to shout about. Service was quite okay too, except for a grumpy Malay lady whose face was as black as her uniform. Pricewise, it's not too bad. Rather reasonable for French food like this. Parking is quite a nightmare here. Trying to find a lot along Purvis is nearly impossible. Overall, I'll be back to try their other dishes, I think it will be worth the trouble.

Says open at 11.30am. It was 11.50am and still not open. Foie tastes good, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside with no veins. Portion is very small. It was cold on the inside. Duck confit was disappointing. The sauce looks light and tasted slightly bitter. Had better confits. $28 set meal - says top up $5 for foie. End up it was $6 so I got it ala carte.
