The food taste amazing! Starting with their appetiser, it has fig (sweet) + tomato tartlet (a little tiny sour) + toast? (Crunchy). Followed by the mini brioche buns (its super fluffy and hot and brushed with abit of honey) blend well with the whipped duck butter. The main course I chose is the tender flavourful orange sauce duck meat, its quite simple yet the taste is nice mixed with the orange, the dessert is rum baba with vanilla ice cream, which give a soft gentle taste of rum with a little sweetness of the distinct taste of vanilla (in ice cream). As for the service, I think its not too bad. Overall, its recommended to try for first timer and I hope they have new seasonal menu to try their food creations :) *There is a open space parking directly opposite their restaurant.

We tried the express lunch menu. The dishes we liked were the snacks, octopus starter, and duck main. Portions are very small or just “to taste”, as the chef explains the meaning behind the name Assaggi in Italian. Desserts for us fell short for the most part. Rum was overpowering in the baba and then crème brûlée was so shallow I was eating more caramelised sugar than the crème itself. Also the chocolate and blueberry take on this French classic didn’t do much for us. Wasn’t a fan of the veal starter that had tuna mayo centring the flavour of the dish. Was a bit disappointed that both pasta options on the mains were plain pastas though the limoncello one was delicious. Food aside, service was excellent and chef paid extra care to the allergy at our table. Restaurant is much more compact than expected — there’s just about 9 tables in total which explains why it is so difficult to book a dinner slot.

Everything at Assaggi was really good, but surprisingly, the most memorable part of the entire meal for me was actually the first three little bites served before the starters! Each one was beautifully done, with different flavors and textures, and they were probably the most exciting part of the meal for me. The rest of the courses were still very good, just not quite as memorable as those first few bites. I also have to mention the butter — it had such an interesting texture. Super creamy, smooth and soft, but still with enough body and texture that it didn’t feel overly soft or flat. Really good with the bread. I think Assaggi is perfect for two people, especially if you order different dishes and swap halfway so you both get to try more of the menu. Overall, a very enjoyable meal with consistently good food — but if you ask me what I remember most, I’d honestly want another round of those first three little bites hahaha!

Their signature journey is an okay tasting menu, just not a consistent and memorable one. The starters and the duck main course stood out most in terms of flavours. I really enjoyed their homemade chili oil, the their duck fat butter brioche. Everything else was forgettable. The veal eye round with tonnato sauce & quail egg is my least favourite. It tastes like low quality meat with a bunch of mayonnaise. The 2 pasta dishes were okay (felt different from what we had at Locanda). Dessert was fine, nothing more. Given the price point, I suppose it’s a good entry for a wider audience to sample their offerings. Personally I would like to see sharper improvement in their menu before returning.

cold cuts & antipasti (the wagyu & tomato tartlet) were great. Not a fan of the duck consommé, tasted weak, mainly like cabbage soup. hated the veal with that tuna sauce which just made everything taste like tuna mayo which I highly dislike Octopus dish was decent, loved the flavors and textures. bread & butter was not too bad. both pasta dishes were strong. for mains, the duck was the better option but nothing exceptional. stone bass (i think i was served trout) was bad, didnt like it at all, flavors were just skewed all over the place. Paccheri Amatriciana Style was boring. desserts werent interesting as well. came with high expectations, left largely unfulfilled.

Food was generally okay, nothing fantastic or anything to shout about if you have enjoyed numerous semi-fine dining meals. The service could be improved for us, as we were forgotten twice during the dinner. Once when they forgot to give us the wet towels for the first course and later forgetting to give us the special chilli oil that everyone else got to go with the pasta, until we asked and they realised they forgot. Overall for the price, I would say you can give it a try.

We had the express lunch menu - and for the price point, the food was fantastic. Service staff explained every single dish, so you know exactly what you will be consuming, and appreciating the chef efforts for putting all the ingredients together. Every dish flavour were on point - very balanced without overpowering flavour or taste in all the dishes. Definitely left the place with a happy stomach.

Absolutely loved our evening here! The ambience is intimate and beautifully suited for a lovely catch-up with friends. The service was warm and attentive, and the food from the kitchen was simply delicious — delicate, refined and thoughtfully prepared. A wonderful dining experience that I’d happily return to!
