Ambience: Warm, chic, and inviting with modern globe lighting and cozy bar seating—great vibes for a casual date night or gathering in Plaza Singapura. Food Highlights: Crispy fried fritto misto served with a delicious herb dipping sauce. Tender squid served over chewy pearl couscous in a light, flavorful seafood foam. Gamberi Pasta: The miso was way too overpowering and completely covered the taste of the gamberi, making the dish overly salty. Pizza: The cheese was glazed with too much honey, making it taste overly sweet. Drinks: Feudo Arancio Nero d'Avola '23 (Sicily, Italy): A smooth, velvety Sicilian red with notes of deep wild berries, black cherries, and warm sweet spice; effortlessly approachable with smooth tannins. Mionetto Prosecco Treviso Brut NV (Veneto, Italy): Lively, crisp, and refreshing with notes of golden apple, white peach, and bright citrus; a great palate cleanser. Overall: A lovely atmosphere with a great wine selection, though a few food items missed the mark on flavor balance.

Decided to try this new restaurant that opened at Plaza Singapura! The food was generally decent. We ordered: White ragu bolognese - It's not bad, but nothing much to shout about. Seafood cioppino pizza - Quite nice, feels like a pizza version of a seafood pasta. Barramundi con brodo di pesce - My favourite dish from this meal - barramundi was soft and juicy and the sauce was great. Wished the radish was softer and had soaked up more of the gravy. Fries - crispy and crunchy goodness! Overall, our dining experience was pretty decent. I have to compliment the staff, who were very friendly, polite and attentive!

Reasonably priced, and the pasta was cooked nicely al dente, but unfortunately that was about where the positives ended. Not sure if we caught them on an off day given all the glowing reviews, but the squid couscous felt one-dimensional and bland, the prawns in the pasta were disappointingly mushy, and the potato leek pizza became quite heavy after just one slice. The fritto misto was another letdown. The coating was thick and stodgy rather than light and crisp, and the whitebait didn’t taste particularly fresh either. Nothing was outright terrible, but overall it felt underwhelming, and there wasn’t much that made us want to come back.

Very lovely interior decor and very delicious food. My husband and I truly enjoyed the 10inch sourdough pizza - warm, fluffy, soft and crispy on the outside, generous fillings (look at picture). The risotto dish was really flavourful but I wished the rice is cooked more al dente - a bit too soft and almost porridge-ish texture. Beef Ragu Arancini is so good!! The ingredients are so rich and heaps of ragu - usually more rice than meat for other places. Service staff are hospitable and attentive. Food is served really quickly unlike what we read from reviews (I guess maybe need to work on consistency? Or they have improved?) We went on a weekday, lunch hour. Highly recommend!

No idea if they genuinely ran out of spaghetti or whatever, but this was the worst and most disappointing pasta I had in my entire life. Ordered the amatriciana and everything about this dish was horribly wrong and different from what was claimed in the menu description - bottled tomato sauce instead of tomatoes, pancetta (pork belly) instead of guanciale (pork jowl), but the biggest sin was USING CHINESE YI MIAN INSTEAD OF SPAGHETTI/LINGUINE!!! I left the meal almost untouched, because the chewiness of the noodles alone was so off-putting.. Burrata was decent albeit the weird shape. Pizza was great though, the only saving grace unfortunately

The place has potential and I wanted it to be good even moderating my expectations for friendly price point and location that targets mainly students and young adults. But the cacio e Pepe still fell below my expectations. Too heavy a hand with the pasta water. It tasted like pasta water with a bit of cheese. It’s edible, but it needs to be less wet and more cheesy. No amount of black pepper will fix that. The starter I had - zucchini with ricotta - was better. Crisp batter, balanced sweet sauce and ricotta though tbh I could’ve used a bit more ricotta. This place has potential for a casual good lunch spot. Just needs a bit more work. They also put a lot of thought into the decor and it’s quite pleasing to look at but also too bright and could be dimmed to look less fluorescent. More fabrics like rugs would help absorb sound - it currently feels like you’re dining in a school cafeteria whereas the decor like the bar counter visuals been done thoughtfully, so it feels like you’re going yourself a disservice by not making these small adjustments to improve the dining experience.

Delightful ambiance at Tavola Aperta and equally delightful dishes. I had made a reservation for my party of 5 and we were promptly seated. Our host also shared the recommended dishes, we took his recommendations and had a marvellous meal. The burrata with roasted grapes was delicious as a starter. I particularly enjoyed the White Ragu Pasta and both sour dough pizzas. Lunch hour was incredibly busy but the dishes were served fast. I plan to return next time for desserts which we could not muster after our hearty lunch on this occasion.

Checked out this Italian place at Plaza Singapura. Their margherita pizza was nice and reasonably priced. We also tried three different types of pasta. Their pasta were quite al dente, and decent overall, although the flavours were a little light for my liking. Service was friendly, and the dining ambience was comfortable and pleasant. A good place for an affordable Italian meal.
