Interactive dining experience where you get to cook your own okonomiyaki right at the table. The food tasted good overall and it was quite fun playing around with the cooking process, especially if you’re dining with friends or family. $19++ The garlic fried rice $9++was loosely cooked and tasted decent, though it felt slightly underwhelming as it did not seem freshly prepared on the spot. It appeared to be pre-cooked beforehand and only reheated through stir-frying before serving. Beef tongue $15.9++ was tender, but the sesame sauce did not really complement the dish well and slightly overpowered the natural flavour of the meat. Service manpower was surprisingly huge for such a small shop, with around 10 staff members around during the visit, so service was generally prompt and attentive. Take note that they only seat customers when the full party has arrived, so do plan your timing properly if meeting in groups. Parking may also be slightly inconvenient as there are only a few lots available outside the restaurant.

Arrived when it was not peak there were many seats, however we waited a very long time for our mains. They may have forgotten our order as another table got their order before us when they arrived after us. All our sides were gone before the mains came. Service staff were on the ball to refill tea and serve drinks but the kitchen was really slow. It became slower as the crowd started to build. There is now also a minimum charge which can be easily reached because food prices have gone up across the board. Food portions are not large.

Came on Sunday 12pm, waited for the restaurant to open. Not very easily accessible, have to walk from the nearest bus stop Service was okay, managed to sit at the front table, with the food cooked infront of us. Okonomiyaki size is about 6 inch, loaded with cabbage ($18 each) Can choose 3 toppings of choice including seafood, poultry and vegetables I feel that the okonomiyaki is not cooked till crispy type, they set a timer for each side, serve right on the dot. Inside was slightly mushy(?) may get abit jelak if u are eating the whole by yourself. Can add unlimited bonito flakes, so feel free to request! The fried rice was very oily…. The bottom of the bowl was coated with oil. It was full of wokhei though but really too oily. The torched scallops were delicious, but I would say for this four piece, it’s kind of not worth it. Hot sake was smooth and nice Would I come again? Maybe not… it was a good experience tho

Ajiya stands out among Singapore’s handful of okonomiyaki restaurants. The scallop mentaiko impresses with fragrant sauce and fresh seafood. Their signature Ajiya combo—which we opted for a selection of octopus, bacon, and onion topped with mayo and chili flakes and Otafuku sauce—delivers soft, fluffy, flavorful perfection served piping hot straight from the grill. Owner Ivy’s warm hospitality elevated our experience as she enthusiastically shared details about their dishes, as it was our first visit. For an authentic okonomiyaki experience with exceptional service, Ajiya is a must-visit destination.

AJIYA OKONOMIYAKI: A Tale of Fate, Fermented Beans, and Flame-Grilled Disappointment Location: 104 Jalan Jurong Kecil – where hunger meets destiny. On a humble quest to seek nourishment among the sacred streets of Bukit Batok, I, a mere mortal with Google Maps as my katana, ventured forth to dine at one of the revered, star-kissed establishments. But alas! Fate, in her cruel elegance, laughed in my face. Booked. Every single one of them. Even the auntie at the corner stall shook her head. Just as hope faded like miso soup in a storm, a glow emerged down Jalan Jurong Kecil — not neon, but the warm, golden radiance of Ajiya Okonomiyaki, a dojo of Japanese comfort food. We approached with reverence, and miracle of miracles — we were accepted into their clan. Hiyashi Chuka — The Cool Samurai of Noodles A cold dish, yet it hit with the force of a thousand cherry blossoms. Slippery noodles hid beneath a robe of vegetables, ham, and fish roes arranged with the precision of origami masters. Refreshing. Balanced. Like a well-written haiku… "Cold, but not heartless. Crab stick whispers to my tongue— Summer slurps begin." Kimchi Hiyayakko — Tofu's Unexpected Glow-Up Behold, the tofu! A blank canvas now splashed with bold flavor! Surrounded by a sea of sesame sauce and topped with rebellious kimchi, this was no ordinary bean brick. It was reborn — like a quiet salaryman discovering salsa dancing. Spicy, nutty, daring. A union approved by the gods (and probably someone’s mother-in-law). Okonomiyaki — The Chosen One A culinary customization challenge! Choose your own adventure with three mighty ingredients! Ours: tako, bacon, and shitake mushroom light before our eyes by warriors of the hotplate. Crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside — like emotional damage served hot. My inner anime protagonist wept tears of bonito flakes. Century Egg Kani Tofu — The Deceptive Assassin Visually… it resembled something from a Pokémon Center fridge accident. But then — BAM! Flavor! The century egg and crab combo hit like a surprise boss fight. Strange. Slimy. Sublime. I doubted it at first. I was wrong. Forgive me, tofu-senpai. Final Verdict: Thanks for the memories.

First time here to try okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake)! Nice overall dishes. Very crowded but environment is nice and chill! I enjoyed all the dishes!

The okonomiyaki tasted like something I could get at a pasar malam for a fraction of the price. It lacked soul. The rest of the dishes were mediocre at best. The real offender was the grilled mackerel, which tasted like cheap chopped canned fish soaked in vinegar. I really wanted this to be a great meal — it was my one and only meal of the day, and I was brought far from my usual locations. But alas, life had other plans.

It’s a cozy and authentic okonomiyaki experience where you can cook your own pancakes right at the table. Everything at Ajiya was excellent! The potato mentaiko was absolutely addicting — creamy, savory, and full of flavor. The pork was damn good, tender and perfectly seasoned with their special sauce. The yakisoba were tasty too, with just the right texture and seasoning. I definitely be back the third time.
