Tonkatsu ENbiton (VivoCity)

Quite a pleasant establishment, within 10 minutes of ordering, it arrived freehand hot. The Miso soup was soul-warming, with bits of pork belly, carrots and radish. The A5 beef curry was tender, the beef simply melts when consumed. The Katsus have a crisp and delicate breading which compliments the firm texture of the pork within. Interesting the place has an emphasis on Yuzu, with it being used in their drinks, pickled vegetables and dishes, this I would say makes them stand out from Ma Masion, which sells similar dishes. The staff are also very friendly and attentive, with many being able to help those with trouble understanding. Overall I found the experience here to be quite enjoyable, especially with their unique seasoning choice.

Being the usual member, I had a fever and diarrhea (8-9rounds) after I ate the Rosu Katsu Toji ( pork katsu in steel pot with raw eggs to be pour in) on 25 Sep. The eggs might not well cooked due to the mini jelly used as burner. The pot used is no longer the black one, changed to the thin steel version. Nevertheless, the pork cutlet, rice and miso soup are yummy, even the sesame seeds are fresh! Only thing that I overlooked is the eggs are not well cooked. I couldnt find the usual katsudon since it was not for dinner time. The service are good.

Tonkatsu ENBITON at VivoCity is a great spot for Japanese comfort food. The pork cutlets are crispy on the outside and juicy inside, with satisfying portions. The staff are friendly and attentive, making the dining experience smooth and pleasant. Perfect place for a simple, fuss-free meal.

Well fried, nicely breaded, tender, and came with a good mix of fat that easily disintegrated in the mouth. The salad was fresh and the sauce were great. The soup was savoury and balanced. The pickles and rice were good. The chicken katsu was excellent as well. Well fried, nicely breaded, and tender. Food was good but the service was terrible. We came at 9:10 PM with family, well before closing time, but the staff (Noelle) kept trying to remove our sauces, cutlery, and dishes while we were still eating. It was clear she wanted us to finish quickly and leave, which made the whole meal uncomfortable. If the restaurant is so eager to close, they shouldn’t accept customers at 9 PM and should just tell us upfront instead of rushing us throughout the meal. Very disappointing first visit great food, but the service ruined it.

The fried oysters (Kaki Fry Set) were good—plump and juicy. I also tried the ramen with the pork loin cutlet (Rosu Katsu Red Tonkotsu Ramen), which was a real surprise. I didn’t expect a tonkatsu place to do ramen that well, but the broth was rich and the pork was tender. Portions here are solid and the free cabbage refills are a nice touch. We paid with a Citibank card, so we got a side of truffle fries on the house (spend over $50 for that). Honestly, great meal for the price.

I ordered the Chicken Katsu Set and the Chicken Katsu Kuro Kare Set. Both came with free flow rice, miso soup and a side of mixed cabbage with arugula. The food was decent, though nothing particularly stood out in terms of flavour. An older female staff member was helpful and attentive. She refilled the miso soup promptly, which was a nice touch. However, the male cashier was not very friendly and came across as quite cold, which made the overall experience a little less enjoyable.
