I don’t expect much from Japanese chains at this point, much less those in malls but I was really surprised by the quality of food at Sen Ryo!!! The sashimi is really thick, and fresh, and you can really taste the natural sweetness of the produce. Really enjoyed the soft shell crab too. Very fair prices for the quality imo. And good variety in the menu too. Will come back! Visited on a public holiday, and the staff were clearly very busy but really wanted to thank Boon Kiat, the waiter who still made sure to be attentive and assuring and welcoming especially with my elderly grandma around! Always grateful for kind service that leaves the experience so much better 🌟 Thank you!

We ordered the Sen-Ryo Deluxe Sushi Platter, Spicy Maguro (Akami) Maki, Una Maki, Sen-Ryo Temaki, Ika Teriyaki, Grilled Beef Tenderloin, and Kaki Fry (Hiroshima). It's not the cheapest, about $50/pax for dinner, but at least you get quality for it (probably the best sushi joint around both Vivocity and Harbourfront Centre in my opinion). The Grilled Beef Tenderloin was very flavourful. The Deluxe Sushi Platter also impressed, the rice was well-seasoned and the fish was noticeably fresh. The Ika Teriyaki was pretty decent too. The Sen-Ryo Temaki was $12 a pop after taxes, tasty but the seaweed wasn't as crispy as we'd hoped (to be fair, we did take a fair bit of photos before digging in). Might give that a miss next time, not because it’s bad but rather cause to try other items instead. The Una Maki and Spicy Maguro Maki were both solid, nothing to complain about. Servers were nice and also brought us a complimentary ice cream after they found out we were celebrating a birthday. Would definitely return. Recommend if you're looking for quality Japanese in the area.

had my post-proposal dinner recently and chose senryo from it's good quality and reasonable price point. the first moment after being seated was a very strong & unpleasant stench from the table, pointing straight to the cloth used to clean the tables. we pointed it out and they explained on the type of cleaning agent they were using. but frankly it's just the cloth that smelt like it was damp and not clean. service recovery was fine, they offered to change tables for us multiple times but by then we used our own alcohol wipes to clean the table again. food was great overall, tempura was amazing especially the ebi tempura. disappointed that the chawamushi ran out and we were only informed after placing the order. wagyu don was amazing and the desserts were great too. just left feeling kinda disappointed but will come back again.

New-to-me and now my fav casual Japanese dining! Decent highballs and decent quality food. The menu has a good mix of sashimi, sushi and grilled plus hotpot stuff. I like it that the restaurant offers ishidai sushi and sashimi, along with kisu. Importantly, The outdoors is spacious, facing the water. The outdoor patio is sheltered and has overhead fans that ventilate the area sufficiently. It’s also pet-friendly. Thanks for taking such good care of us, Boon Kiat.

Had a really nice meal at Sen-ryo VivoCity today. The food was good as always, but what really stood out was the service. A big shoutout to Elvis, who was so friendly, kind and approachable. He made us feel very welcomed from the moment we arrived and was attentive without being over the top. It’s always nice when someone genuinely enjoys looking after customers. Thanks, Elvis, for making our visit even better. Will definitely be back!

The food was okay, but the service from Boon Kiat was top-tier. Give him a raise. We sat outdoor because we had our puppy with us. The outdoor tables are sheltered and with many fans so we were comfortable even during peak heat at 12 PM.

Newly opened for 6 months only. Menu is relatively suitable for all ages. Typical Japanese Menu with sashimi, Dons , tempura etc. Have to shout out for Yong Jun and the teams’ services. Yong Jun service is friendly and pleasant. Executive Chef James exercises great professionalism after we feedback about a new dish Gobo chips. He personally came out to attend to us, replaced the chips and gave us a complimentary hidden menu dish - Chicken soft bone ( knee part) on the house to pair with our beer. They also runs a 1 for 1 beer promotion which we decide to stay for the night instead of hopping to somewhere else. It is also a Pet friendly restaurant!

Service was slow and inefficient, wanted to order but the staff couldn’t be bothered to attend to the tables. Food was mediocre at best for the price, there are sushi options with fresher and better tasting ingredients in the same mall. Would not recommend or go again.
