The watermelon fried rice was unique and refreshing, a fun twist that actually worked well. The green curry was decent but a little milder than expected. The pad thai was definitely a highlight flavourful, well-balanced, and very satisfying. The kang kong was nicely cooked with a good amount of flavour. The beer battered sotong was crispy and addictive, one of our favourites. The omelette prawn was also excellent fluffy, savoury, and packed with flavour. Overall, a great spot with several standout dishes. Would definitely come back for the pad thai and sotong!

We enjoyed the food and appreciated the service. Every dish was delicious and well above the standard you’d expect from an average Thai restaurant. The Signature Steamed Spicy Pork Ribs stood out with tender meat and an intriguing soup—reminiscent of peppery bak kut teh, yet balanced with a distinct Thai sourness. Both the Phat Thai Talay and pineapple fried rice were loaded with ingredients, each plate featuring several large prawns. The Thai tofu (Tao Hu Tod) on its own was ordinary, but paired with the accompanying Thai sauce, it became surprisingly appetising. A pleasant surprise was the simple stir-fried kangkong, which turned out to be one of the star dishes—fresh, flavourful, and perfectly cooked. The mango salad (Yum Mamuang) was smooth and refreshing, offering a nice contrast to the richer dishes. Drinks were equally tasty; the Thai milk tea and lemongrass tea had a well-balanced sweetness that wasn’t overpowering. Service was polite, friendly, and efficient. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and the outdoor seating provided a relaxed and comfortable ambience. While the prices are slightly higher than typical heartland Thai eateries, the quality of food and service makes it well worth the price.

Incredibly disappointed with the quality of food. Ordered Laab Moo (Northeastern thai-style minced pork), sticky rice and a Thai milk tea. Laab moo was covered with basil leaves and not a single hint of the fried crispy rice within the dish. Sticky rice was black instead of the usual white. Milk tea was decent but doesn’t taste authentic. Spoke to the staff about this and he claimed that it was black because the white one that I wanted was described to him as “steamed rice”. When I told him that what I ordered isn’t Thai food, he agreed and said that the boss is aware, claiming that the food sold there is catered for Singaporean, Korean and Japanese tastebuds. Very disappointed that Thai food at such a prestigious location is so badly represented, despite paying a premium. And not to say that the restaurant is cozy at all. Was told to sit outside as the inside is closed off as well. I was charged double for the sticky rice as well but only noticed after I left. Those looking for a relatively-authentic Thai restaurant, please avoid.

Gin Khao offers a nice dining experience with its pleasant ambience and the bonus of being pet-friendly, which makes it a good spot to relax with company. Food-wise, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. The fried calamari was underwhelming — the batter was soggy and oily, making it quite heavy and a little sickly. The fried spring rolls, on the other hand, were decent and enjoyable. The standout dish for me was definitely the fried chicken — well-marinated, crispy, and full of flavour. The much-talked-about watermelon fried rice unfortunately didn’t live up to the hype. While it’s recommended often, I found it rather lackluster and not as special as expected. The tom yum and claypot vermicelli with crayfish were alright — tasty enough, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, Gin Khao is a comfortable place to dine in with a good vibe, but the food has both highs and lows, with the fried chicken being the star of the show.

Service was excellent, where the waitstaff were cheerful, accommodating, and had our table for 5 prepared well before our reservation time. The space felt airy and comfortable, helped by the huge ceiling fan overhead. Orders were taken promptly and food arrived soon after. The food itself was decent, though flavors were on the lighter side. Fried items leaned a bit soggy, while stir-fried dishes lost some taste as they cooled. Prawns were a hit-and-miss, some fresh, others less so, but seafood portions overall were generous. Prices, however, were the highlight. We ordered nearly 20 items including drinks, and the bill came to just $260, which is incredible value. Will definitely return for drinks and finger food in a relaxed setting!

Had dinner with fault here on a Saturday evening while on a staycation. Ordered an olive fried rice with beef, pad thai talay, pineapple fried rice, stir fried broccoli, Thai iced tea, a house pour red wine, and mango sticky rice. The first 4 items arrived rather quickly, when the restaurant wasn't crowded, but the other items which were added on later took a very long time and required multiple reminders, when it was clear they were understaffed as it became a lot more crowded. Food wise, it was pretty good, except the broccoli was still crunchy despite asking for it to be cooked softer for the children. The iced tea was not as strong as other Thai iced teas, while the house pour was quite mediocre, but for $8 I guess I can't really complain. Mango sticky rice was also not very good according to my wife and children (I didn't eat it because I don't like mangoes). Service was initially quite good until they got busy. The restaurant is located at Quayside, overlooking the yatchs at the dock, and also had a great view of sunset. The staff were apologetic for the long wait, and waived the cost of the mango sticky rice. Total came up to slightly over $100.

The food is really nice, plus the the food presentation so fascinating and the ambiance very relaxing specially the service it's really accommodating and friendly specially the staffs who serve us Thanks to Ice, jolina, chefs lim and chef chinchan thank you for the suprise free dessert 🥰🥰🥰

Every single dish felt and tasted meticulously cooked. Piping hot, freshly cooked with care and attention to detail. Most importantly, the service from the 2 female staff was immaculate, sincere and highly professional. Keep up the great work. I will always return.
