Really like the concept at Tempura En—besides doing solid tempura, they also serve a good range of fresh sashimi. If you can’t decide what to have, the deluxe tempura & kaisendon wazen set gives you the best of both worlds. What I enjoyed most is how the meal flows. You can start with the warm, comforting chawanmushi, move to the fresh sashimi, then end with the crispy tempura for contrast. The Tai Goma carpaccio (sesame sea bream) was fresh and refreshing. The chawanmushi with snow crab was really good—quite uncommon and probably one of the better ones I’ve had from Japanese chains. Very fragrant, with flavours slightly reminiscent of shark fin soup. Tempura was well done—light, crisp batter without being greasy. The sea bream broth (taidashi) served in a teapot was light and clean, with a nice fish flavour that isn’t overpowering. We also tried the Stamina Don, which came with equally good tempura pieces. Only small feedback is the tendon sauce on the bowl is quite light by default—would be nice if they provide extra on the side.

Although a little pricy, eating at Tempura-EN is always lovely. It's one of the few places I can eat a decent amount of tempura without feeling overly oily, and they always have unique seasonal dishes to try. The triple salt provided is also a great way to have new flavours between ingredients. Vegetables are fresh and the batter is crisp but not super oily. This time it was the truffle camembert tempura, which was great for cheese lovers. The combination is great as the cheese cuts through any potential oil left on the tempura. (We ate more than the pictures, and ended up ordering 3 plates of the cheese tempura).

The tempura was decent overall, light and not overly greasy, but unfortunately the meal felt inconsistent. The chawanmushi was quite bland and lacked depth, which was disappointing as it is usually one of my favourite comfort dishes. The soba was also served in a rather messy manner, which took away from the overall dining experience. Presentation matters, especially at a tempura focused place. Miso soup was really salty. Service was fine, but with a few refinements in flavour and plating, the experience could be much better.

We ordered the 1. stamina tendon, 2. Salmon belly tempura, 3. Buta kakuni egg tempura. The food was generally good. The tempuras in the Stamina tendon dish were quite big and there was quite a lot of tempura pieces. Not easy to finish unless you're extremely hungry. The good thing is that the batter of the tempuras were not overly oily. The pork belly in the Buta Kakuni dish was excellent except that there were some pork hairs on a few of the pork belly pieces. Overall the food was good and we will be visiting again

Food was average, tempura wasn't that great. The batter was too a bit thick and only a thin drizzle of sauce is given. No dipping sauce is provided at the side, you have to ask for it separately. I thought that this was a bit weird as it should be a given. Also, the tempura should have been put on a separate plate apart from the rice as the moisture from the rice made some parts of the tempura soggy, and the rice also ended up sticking to the tempura. Service was alright, the server was a bit too chatty but I guess she was trying to be friendly. This is the first restaurant I've been to that requires customers to dispose of the birthday cake box (a foldable paper box) themselves... which doesn't make sense to me. All in all, I will definitely not return.

wow this blew my mind!!!! i was expecting fast food tbh but the tempura was really well fried and every piece retained its crispiness throughout the meal without getting soggy? loved the assortment of seafood and veg tempura too - i am usually never full after a meal but wow the portion was rly generous. the seafood was so fresh and succulent. i was most impressed by the squid tempura which is not ez to pull off but it was not tough and chewy at all. vegetables were so sweet and crunchy i think i found my fave tempura in sg!!!!

Came to the restaurant in other place before and now at Vivo outlet and it does not disappoint, the food and the service. It is consistently good. The complimentary dessert is the beautiful additional touch by the team. Really appreciate it. When you come to have lunch, no matter how rush it might be, a great service is always desired and that what makes the food has its best taste. Thank you. Note: We are a family of 3 (parents+daughter), our orders are 2 tempura set + 1 tendon set.

I got the salmon belly tempura set and I think the portion was bigger than expected. Salmon belly was fatty yet not too gelat. Tempura were fried well and fresh, and I enjoyed the chicken fillet. Perhaps one thing to improve is to have chili powder on the table for spicy lovers. And certain part of the restaurant was a little warm and stuffy. Nonetheless it was a good dining experience, and our service staff Emily Chan was very prompt and helpful.
