The restaurant was completely packed, but we were lucky to secure a cozy table right near the counter. From food quality to service, the entire dining experience was top-notch! ⭐ What We Had & Highlights: * Signature Seafood Don: Absolutely stellar! The scallops and crab meat were super fresh, sweet, and tasty—a complete highlight for seafood lovers. 🍣🦀 * Mentai Tamago: Perfectly torched with a rich, savory mentaiko glaze on top. So soft and flavorful! 🍳🔥 * Chawanmushi & Tofu: Silky smooth, comforting, and topped generously with ikura. 🥚✨ * Complimentary Miso Soups & Hot Tea: Started off our meal with comforting hot green tea and two bowls of deeply flavorful miso soup. 🍵🥣 * Flavored Rice Tasting: We initially wanted to order their popular flavored rice, but it was out of stock. The manager was so kind to bring us a small tasting sample to try anyway—and it was delicious! 🍚 * Refreshing Lime Slushy: At the end of the meal, we were served a complimentary lime slushy. It was wonderfully refreshing and washed down the rich meal perfectly. 🍋🧊 🛎️ Stellar Service & Manager Praise: What truly elevated our meal to a 5-star experience was the thoughtful service from the manager. Because our table had limited space for our bulky backpacks, she proactively offered to store them safely right behind us near the counter so we could dine comfortably. That level of initiative and warmth is hard to find! 🎒👏 The Verdict: Amazing food, fresh ingredients, and genuine hospitality even during a chaotic weekend peak hour. ​We decided to try this restaurant for the first time after being warmly greeted by a friendly staff member when we passed by earlier. ​Located in the Grantral Mall ground-floor food area, there was plenty of seating available, and the service was fast and welcoming. Do note that prices exclude GST and service charge; we spent around $50 for chicken, salmon sashimi, and gyoza. ​The salmon sashimi tasted fresh, delicious, and authentic—my child loved it! Portion sizes are reasonable for the price. They offer a wide selection of meats, including chicken, pork, seafood and alcoholic beverages. The chicken dish I ordered was tasty, paired with perfectly cooked rice and a well-balanced flavor that wasn't overwhelming. ​The gyoza was somewhat mediocre and lacked flavor, though that might just be personal preference (or because I was already full by the time it arrived). ​Overall, it’s a solid option if you’re craving authentic Japanese food.

The Bara-Chirashi Don set meal came generously topped with fresh sashimi, including salmon, tuna and yellowtail, all cut into small cubes. The sashimi tasted fresh and delicious, and the combination of different fish gave every mouthful a nice variety of flavours and textures. Besides the Bara-Chirashi bowl, I also received miso soup, sesame tofu, hot green tea and mochi ice cream for dessert.

everything i had here was so good. i got the large tora-san kaisen san and mount fuji kaisen san, and there was so much sashimi of such good quality! everything in the bowl was soo yummy, and the furikake added a really nice touch to the rice too. i also enjoyed the asama sashimi platter, as the sashimi was very thick and fresh. my favourite was the salmon for sure. the sesame tofu was also really yummy and an enjoyable side dish. the miso soup also deserves a special mention, it was so flavourful and was unlike the usual miso soups served in restaurants. it had vegetables in it and was so light. i enjoyed the complimentary yuzu slushie too! the service was very good and the staff were very attentive even though it was busy during dinner time. although it is a little on the pricey side, i think it is quite reasonable for the quality you are getting. i really enjoyed my time dining here and i will be back!

Checked out the brand new Tora-San outlet at Grantral Mall Macpherson, and it did not disappoint! The ingredients were noticeably fresh, well-prepared, and flavorful. On top of the great food, the customer service was prompt, efficient, and welcoming despite it being a fresh opening. Clean and comfortable space—will definitely be back again soon. Highly recommended!

Friendly waitress. Cool vibes. Hotate was very fresh and sweet. Wasabi and soya sauce tasted great. Tofu was pleasant appetizer. The red shrimp was a little undercooked but its not too bad. Maybe im not used to red shrimp. It had mayonnaise so it was still acceptable for me. The fuji kaisendon looked gigantic (maybe that's 4 pax) on Picture but is not as big as I thought (1 pax). The hotato was fresh and has natural sweetness. Tuna was tasty. Salmon was better than average sushi chain. Shredded crab meat was somehow more watery than i expected. The vinegar rice was perfectly on point with the furikake. :P Overall, its quite enjoyable dinner. Love that we get complimentary yuzu slushy dessert during dinner hours.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The sashimi rice bowl was very tasty. The fish were fresh . I love the abalone , it was soft and tender with nice flavour of the sauce . The unagi portion was generous and soft , goes well with the seasoned rice , tasted like glutinous rice. If you are looking to have fresh , delicious and affordable Japanese food. This is the place to go .

Came here for a farewell lunch and, to be honest, I was a little skeptical at first. Thankfully, the food turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The lunch set is slightly on the pricey side, but I felt it was worth the money. I ordered the Saba Don, and it was delicious. The saba was grilled perfectly, with crispy skin and tender, flavorful meat. The dining area is a little cramped, especially during lunch hours, but the quality of the food made up for it. It probably won’t be my regular lunch spot because of the price, but I’ll definitely be back whenever I’m craving a good Japanese meal. Definitely worth a try!
