Makan Japanese restaurant

We got the garlic friend rice, okonomiyaki, eggplant and scallops. It was yummy! Run by a singaporean lady but there were Japanese customers which added to the vibe. Atmosphere was the highlight, like a hole in the wall izakaya. Food was reasonable too.

Atmosphere is noisy. Enclosed area and many echo. The lady boss is showing attitude. I merely commented that add spring onion to one of the dish need to add $2 ah. So expensive. Then she go on and on say u didn’t go market u duno ah, now one small bunch of spring onion already cost $2. Need to personal attack me that I didn’t go market meh? Didn’t go market that is why need to eat out. Then as she collect the menu and still go on n one to say abt me. Serve us food also afce very black, as if we owe her a million dollar. Food also not fantastic . Only the skewer is not bad but not value for money.

Food wasn’t bad but need to put in A LOT more effort with the okonomiyaki (flat as a pancake and can barely find taste cabbage) and clams (as if you opened your mouth when the waves crashed onto the shores). Worst of all, the restaurant has an air freshener that made it smell like the toilet. I had to pack everything I ordered and leave cos the smell was giving me a headache and there was no way to enjoy the other items I ordered

I came to eat around 10 PM after the concert ended, and it was delicious! Highly recommend it!

Cosy Jap drinks place with great snacks. I left the ordering to my host. Meat balls, grilled fish , garlic fried rice was good .
