This restaurant is situated on top of a car park. You can drive to level 6 or give park below and take the lift up. Quite a large restaurant in a more traditional Chinese setting. This place has the 1960s vibes, but a bit more modern. The chilli crabs with man tou is a must try! The fried baby squid is also addictive. The other Chinese dishes are also above average. The service is very prompt. On the whole, a very pleasant dining experience. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Highly recommended. Thumbs up! Will be back for sure.

Was there for Chinese New Year lunch menu. Previously patronised the place many years ago, for another event too and impression is the food are good. Luckily the standard maintained. Salted egg fish skin is crispy and of the right thickness, not too saltish. The Salted egg prawn is also quite nice althoght we can't recognised it at first glance (not aware of the lunch menu). Portion is quite filling. Pity the soup probably wasn't mixed well when the server helped us to scoop, majority of the sharkfin was in one bowl, and the person don't eat the sharkfin. The chicken is well marinated and very soft. Prefer the strawberry mochi over the matcha one. Overall food is nice, worth to come back again. But is not very convenient for those driving as there is only one lift and we parked at level 3, need to wait for few trips before we can board the lift.

Last night, we held our annual CNY gathering at this old school restaurant. As many of us have not heard of this restaurant nor came here before - we were surprised this was set up since 1956 by Rolands's parents. It got famous as the Palm Beach Seafood restaurant and eventually set up in this location (taking over the old Sin Leong restaurant). Don't be misled by my comment 'old school' it is the taste and it's dishes but not the environment - well furnished and just recently renovated their washrooms.. All bright and clean. As for the dishes and services - we all enjoyed it very much (thumbs up)! The chilli crabs are nostalgic in flavours and the fired baby squids also a hit. The services are impeccable and deserved a comment. One suggestion for Roland - please improve on the disposable gloves. The quality is really bad and it affects the dining experience of the crabs.

Always great to return to a nostalgic restaurant atmosphere - if you’ve been to JingFong in NYC, you’ll love Roland’s! It’s got that old timey vibe where the servers are respectful and they know how to make sure the guests laugh and have fun! The food for the CNY lunch with my Zumba ladies was a blast - recommendations were offered and food allergies taken into consideration! If you enjoy nostalgic, Chinese food where the owners are present everyday - you gotta come to Roland’s! Food rec: Cereal Prawns, Glutinous Rice, Fried Fish, Yam Paste Dessert

Brought my family here for dinner yesterday and left feeling disappointed. I enjoy eating crabs and had been looking forward to trying Roland, especially given its reputation as the creator of the chilli crab recipe. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. The mee sua, which was recommended as a signature dish, was quite bland and lacked flavour. The chilli crab was described as 1.2kg, but it appeared noticeably smaller than expected based on my experience buying and cooking crabs at home. Most disappointing was the freshness of the crab, the meat lacked sweetness and the texture was mushy, a clear indication that the crab was not fresh. At $118/kg we expected so much better. I shared my feedback with the staff on duty and was told it would be passed on to the chef. Given the total bill of $250, the overall experience felt underwhelming for the price.

Came for dinner on Saturday night - probably 70% full. Can be quite cold - suggest to bring a cardigan/ shawl. For four pax, we ordered the lala ( had some sandy texture - probably not washed properly) , duck ($38?) , mushroom with spinach & yam ring ($40) & 2 desserts. Came to about ~$150. The vegetable dish was average. Taste is above average. Their tea cups had lipstick stain. Need to wash throughly. Waiters were friendly! Toilets recently renovated and nice! Fish that night was 1.2kg and above so too expensive to order. A lady was suggesting to order a fish claypot for $68 which I think is overblowing the budget.

They claim the best chilli crab and we agree too. We came over Wednesday night they were crazy quiet but they said they pickup over the weekend mainly. It literally looks like a wedding venue. We also got the sharks fin soup which was something different that we hadnt had before and enjoyed however there isn't but fin in the soup for the price. The staff are attentive, maybe a little too much where we were literally being watched our whole meal which was awkward I'm guessing as they weren't busy and didn't have anything else to do. I would definitely recommend the restaurant although on the pricey side, in comparison to other restaurants is cost us atleat 50% more.

Very disappointed with the food. Feels like the chef has changed — the quality dropped a lot. The baby squid was terribly over-fried, super hard with a strong chao da (burnt) smell and taste, and yet they can still serve like this. The so-called "crispy" duck was also another over-fried dish, it didn't look like duck to all of us.. extremely dry and not nice at all. The wrap was so thick it feels like duck wrapped in prata... 🥲🥲seems the staff know it too so quickly take away and told us they help to tear to smaller pieces... Really not worth it this time. the chilli crab served was so watery by the way. And "xue mei niang" was not "xue mei niang" at all, is just tiny mochi stuffed with low quality ice-cream and each is $3!!?? The super tiny dish cost 12🙄🤷🏻♀️Saw other tables with big portions the food served still look not bad tho.
