Hua Ting Restaurant

Celebrated my mum’s 75th birthday at Hua Ting tonight. First time having dinner here and we are really happy with our choice. Every dish was well executed in terms of presentation and taste. The service was exceptional. Special mention to Cindy and Jiashuo. Cindy was very patient while recommending dishes to us. Jiashuo was very attentive to our needs. When my mother took out a piece of tissue paper to wipe her fingers, Jiashuo immediately brought a plate of napkins over without us asking. The restaurant gifted my mum a very beautiful plate of longevity buns as well. Overall very impressed with the restaurant! We shall be back again.

We arrived early on a Sunday morning and were one of the first to arrive when it opened at 1130am. There’s only 2 seatings during lunch service and very popular so definitely do book in advance. After we were seated we had to ask for the physical menu. We got a variety of dishes to try and while nothing was bad, nothing was great as well. I probably enjoyed the duck and eemian dishes the most. They also don’t serve orh nee which was a slight letdown. Service wise it definitely felt a touch off for a Chinese restaurant which could be much more warm and hospitable. As for atmosphere the decor is elegant and fresh.

26/10, this place require to reserve & dress up casually smart. There is time required to dine & for lunch it open on the dot 11am. In food, the MANGO CHICKEN TART was good, the IRISH ROASTED DUCK - whole was a bit disappointing compared to the one we have in Taiwan, the ANGUS BEEF ROLL was very salty; still have the Lingling in my mouth. Same for GAROUPA FILLET the shredded ham was very salty. For the rest less the mention. Due to the presentation not taste *** For service compare to another Chinese restaurant at another Millennium hotel, except the 2 young server the rest does not carry service with a smile. The decor and 2 young server *** Wonder how come need to dress up, duration of meal time and require to reserve when the restaurant was only half empty. Since it is a top notch restaurant plenty need to improve - especially come to food & those supporting the restaurant. Will we come again, we will prefer to head to King.

Standards of service and food have always exceeded my expectations. Very delegate display of each dish, with explanations by staff for each dish. My personal favourite is the bak gu teh, very unique on its own in display. Pork ribs a juicy and tender, yet not greasy. Soup was very warm at the stomach. Second favourite is lobster. Very generous portion and meat was tangy.

Had lunch yesterday at Hua Ting Restaurant and tried the Chef Tasting Menu $98++. The lobster was beautifully done—soft, plump, and full of flavour—and the overall meal was very satisfying. Although the dessert was slightly on the sour side for my taste. Service was exceptional, especially Meng Chue, who was warm, attentive, and wonderfully caring, making the experience even more memorable.

Been dining here for years but on our most recent visit, we were treated to a circus show. We saw Gym Rats, Hawker aunties and uncles, beach shorts, tank tops and *drumroll*... Pasar Malam slippers. The theme was Full-on Sloppy. Apparently, Hua Ting has lowered its dress code standards. How ridiculous we must have looked when we entered in dressy shoes, flowy dresses and long pants! So apart from the obvious fact that Hua Ting has really gone to the dogs, they've also raised their prices across the board. 3 Har Gao for $15 anyone? They added the gold leaves to justify the price tag. That's both rich and ironic, isn't it! As for the rest of the food, you can expect the same standards as before and it's probably why they haven't snagged a Michelin star in years. Like the glass-half-full, half-empty cliché, you could say they're consistent or predictably boring, same decor, same formula that never quite pushes the envelope. Heck, it's traditional Cantonese nosh so I'll cut them some slack but one thing is clear, Hua Ting is sabotaging themselves and ruining their reputation as a fine-dining establishment by letting the riff-raff in... as they are, without any decent 'costumes'. Clearly, the Hua Ting today seems to be trading up their once-lofty standards for a fatter bottom line.

Held my grandmother's birthday celebration here at Hua Ting and the ambience was truly on point. Love the decor and even my relatives from China was impressed. Special thanks to KC who helped with the reservation and coordination of the menu since the start. And the rest of the team (Carmen, Joanne & Yu Cui) for their service that day. We had a customised menu for the elderlies and received raving reviews from them. Many also enjoyed their signature fried rice. I am also pleasantly surprised by the longevity buns. It was presented in a beautiful tree set up and most importantly came soft and warm. Small little details such as the "paper" at the bottom was also edible make it even more presentable. Truly a beautiful and sweet ending for the celebration.

Hua Ting Restaurant has undeniably left a lasting impression on me with an exceptional dining experience that will be cherished for a long time. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality as the staff had assistantes me to adjust my reservation timing. The staff, particularly Winner, Zhangxin and Joanne, were outstanding. They went above and beyond to ensure that we were well taken care of. Their attentiveness to detail was remarkable. Throughout the meal, they were always there to anticipate our needs, whether it was refilling our champgne glasses. Their passion for providing excellent service was evident, and it truly made the dining experience even more enjoyable. But the highlight of the evening was, of course, the food. The standards were exceptionally high, matching the best I have had in Singapore. Hua Ting is a paradise for anyone seeking authentic Cantonese dishes. The Smoke Lychee Chicken was a masterpiece. The chicken was tender, and the smoky flavor combined with the sweetness of the lychee was a perfect harmony of smokey tastes. The Garoupa Fish with Ham and mushroom. was another standout dish. The fish was cooked to perfection, and the addition of ham gave it a unique and delicious flavor. The Steam Egg Plan with Oliver vege was also very impressive, with its smooth texture and subtle flavors. The quality of the ingredients used was impeccable, and the cooking techniques were of the highest standard. Each dish was a work of art, not only in terms of taste but also in presentation. In a city known for its diverse culinary offerings, Hua Ting stands out. It is a place where you can trust to get an authentic Cantonese dining experience that is second to none. I will definitely be back again. Hua Ting has earned a special place in my heart for all the special event with my family and colleagues, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience in Singapore. Whether it's a special occasion or just a night out to indulge in delicious dishes.
