Gong Yuan Chicken Hotpot @ Clementi Mall

Newly opened place in end Apr 2026. 2-3 pax for a hotpot - portion not a lot. The pot is quite small. And they have solo pot, which they mention the pots are not delivered to them yet. The 2-3pax pot, I thought IS the solo pot, but its not. Very surprised with the portion. Chicken hotpot, the chicken is marinated in a flavouring that tasted like fermented beancurd (腐乳). Taste is ok, but really portion is not alot. There are onion, garlic, celery in the pot. Staff allow us to add more soup base. You can also order more side dishes to add into the hotpot, but the side dishes in the fridge dont look veru tempting and they are not cheap (ranging from $2-$4 but portion also looks little).

This place's pickled fish is so cheap and delicious! 🐟 The broth is both sour and spicy, very appetizing, and the more you eat, the more you crave it. The fish is tender and fresh, and the side dishes are plentiful—a perfect match with white rice! The restaurant's ambiance is also very comfortable, with spacious seating, making for a relaxing dining experience. Overall, it's a great place. For the price, it's definitely worth it, and I'd love to come back! 👍

Tried their sour fish soup and was impressed with how not so sour, spicy, peppery & oily the soup is. The fish meat was silky smooth for every bite and soup retained its aromatic taste. No MSG was added as you don’t feel thirsty at all an hour later after the meal. Definately worth a try and will come back for more. 👍🏻👍🏻

I love the mala chicken and suan cai fish! Super affordable where it was $7.90 for the dish itself and then you can add on rice! Oh and portion is good!
