Arriving after lunch on a long weekend, the restaurant was pretty quiet. My group of three ordered the Rou Ma Noodles (thin noodle option), Chicken Cutlet Noodles (Guan Miao Noodle option), Stir-Fry Cabbage, Hakka Stir-Fry, and Spring Onion Pancake, along with White Rice and beverages.
The total came to $66.49 (no gst and svc), which is decent given the large portions and variety. I particularly liked the Hakka Stir-Fry, a medley of vegetables, beancurd strips, and pork belly strips that goes very well with the quality Pearl Rice served here. Guan Miao Noodle is similar to knife-cut noodles but with a chewier texture; I think they work better dry rather than in soup. My companion had the Rou Ma Noodles and noted that the sauce leans on the saltier side.
As for the drinks, the beverages were alright. I had the Taro Yam Ball Milk Tea, where the yam balls were really chewy and yummy, though the milk tea itself tasted a little stale (siap siap) and was too sweet.
Overall, I think this is a lovely place for homely Taiwanese fare and conversation and I'd love to come back to try other dishes.
