Ginkakuji Onishi

This place deserve 5 star review for their meat. It is authentic Japanese wagyu and their marinated ones was delicious. They have many different cuts and steak cuts too which are great for home yakiniku. Great value and will always visit for their beef again!

Even though they are primarily a butchery, they sell katsu croquettes on weekends / Sundays (forgot which exactly). Be careful when eating this as it is so juicy the meat juices may spurt out depending on the angle of your bite.

I ordered some sliced pork and beef for CNY. Upon collection, the pork and the way it was cut was disappointing. The girl who took my order did not understand my requirements apparently. She kept emphasising on the thickness of the cut while I wanted the size of the cut. During ordering, they wanted a minimum order of $100 in order to have a reservation. Just sharing my experience with this retail outlet

So glad to have access to this Japanese butcher at such a random mall (West coast plaza is hardly as busy or high traffic as other malls in the west). Meats are really fresh and high quality. Service here is also excellent as staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Hope they will be here to stay for a long time!
