Yang Guo Fu Mala Tang @ Northpoint City

Ordered on grab pickup and the portion was measly with missing items as well. Had to make another trip back to ask the staff. I usually order pick up $10 for 1 person and its sufficient. Today, I ordered $20 and the portion looked exactly the same as usual, just with a few extra pieces of chicken and mushroom. Went back to check, staff said hot pot noodle (in picture) is 3 pieces which i paid $2.50 for, and nai bai (in picture) is 1 stalk $1.80 which is absolutely crazy prices. Of all the times I've ordered in store and on grab, it has never been this pathetic. Wish I took a picture of the amount of food they gave. As for the service, when I went back, the staff told me everything was there and "proved" to me that he took the correct amount by weighing it on the scale for me and claimed they shrink after cooking — to which I said the numbers still don't match up but never mind. When I insisted he remake the order instead of merely cooking the missing mushrooms, he acted all sacrificial and said in Chinese "Ok I'll pay for that with my own money. I'm even giving you 100g extra" which is so rude considering this was a mistake on their end and I never asked for extra food.

Delish China-style "Yong Tau Fu" with mala option Lots of protein, greens and carb in the form of noodles (but no rice) choices to pick from. Proteins are fresh, only one that taste weird is the Chinese sausage... Ordered the tomato soup base and a dry mala version. I like the soup, as it's just nicely savory, tangy and with a hearthy body. The dry version is served with the mild spicy sauce on the side. This makes the dish look not as appetising but on the other hand, offers the choice of adding on the sauce as you like for a sharing portion, since some of my party has a low tolerance for spiciness. The sauce bar is a nice touch. I made the mistake of mixing up some sauces before tasting the food. On hindsight, I should have tasted the food first, and mix up the flavours lacking in the dish to balance out and expand the spectrum of taste. Service is fast, hassle free. And the place is clean. Just that the tables are arranged quite close to each other, making it feel cramped. Will definitely return to try out other soup base such as the mala and chicken collagen.

We visited this outlet on a Sunday around 1pm. Hardly any queue, though the seating area seems slightly lower in capacity compared to other outlets. They provide stools to place paper bags etc, which I thought was a nice touch. Staff are rather friendly. Food was served pretty quickly - waited around 5-8 mins. Ingredients were generally fresh. Would visit again for a relatively quiet meal.

First time trying YGF in Singapore, had it in China before. Was very disappointed by the huge contrast between the outlets in both countries for the same beef broth flavour, this one was so bland and tasteless despite how spicy, oily and rich the soup looked. The soup barely had any flavours and fragrance to it. The condiment carried the dish... at least their garlic was really fresh and strong, and their soy sauce was very flavourful. Ingredients looked rather fresh though i saw some flies around

890g of ingredients came up to $28.30 before 9% GST, there is no service charge. The lifetime membership costs $9.90 and gives you 10% off every bill in future, upon showing the physical card. YGF is one of the better creamy typed malatang out there, as compared to HH, ZL, etc. Do note they do not serve rice and all ingredients are priced equally. Big room for improvement on transparency on price per 100g prior to paying though.

Got scammed and ridiculously overcharged. This small amount cost me $41… I tried to ask cashier to reweigh it but I couldn’t speak Chinese. Did not see anyone else pay so much either. Been to many mala tang places, never been charged so much. Do NOT go to Yang Guo Fu because they will scam you! Ridiculous! Would give zero stars if I could.

Here on CNY for lunch. This is a nice outlet, very clean and has attentive and polite staff. Food was served fairly quickly with no fuss. They also have a well maintained condiments section, which is my favourite thing coming to a mala pot shop.

Choose your own ingredients from the shelf and then order with a soup base. They will weigh your ingredients and cook it for you with the soup base. You pay by weight. Grab the condiments from the side shelf also.
