Poke Theory

I actually tried them back during the COVID bento days, but this was my first time visiting in person. I went with the Light Bowl for $11.90, which comes with one base, one protein, and five sides. For protein, I went with the safest choice, baked chicken, paired with their signature sushi rice for the base. I also added $4 for extra spicy raw salmon cubes. Portion sizes were fair for the price, and the ingredients were tasty without being overwhelming. The baked chicken turned out to be healthier than expected haha, but the raw salmon was fresh and well-marinated with a decent spicy kick. My only gripe was the sushi rice, which was quite hard, almost like it was undercooked. The sides seasoning were just right and did not clash with the rest of the bowl. One thing I really loved was the variety of free-flowing, premium dressings. It is super helpful for first-timers who just want to try a bit of everything.

A very terrible dining experience. First of all, the attitude of the staff ignoring us upon entering was really frustrating. Secondly, the kimchi was clearly spoiled. After I politely and kindly pointed it out to them, the staff whispered among themselves as if mocking me, explaining that this was the normal taste. While I may not be a gourmet, my taste buds are perfectly fine and can distinguish good food from bad. I didn’t ask for a refund, just offered a suggestion, but was treated this way. As a consumer, it’s truly infuriating. Lastly, I want to mention that the food was really awful. The avocado had already changed color, and the food mixed together looked like swill.

This was my second time here and it wont be my last. I always get greedy and opted for their regular bowl. You are spoilt for choices as they have different types of cooking methods and seasonings on their chicken and salmon sashimi. For a regular bowl, you get 7 toppings. Not only that, you can choose up to 2 base, 2 proteins, 7 toppings and self serve sauces station. For around $15, you have a full and hearty bowl of salad that is filled to the brim. Weekdays are very crowded but the queue moves very quickly. Staff are friendly too despite the lunch rush.

wow best poke bowl i've had. i had the BYO bowl (light) and it was still pretty substantial. i had the lettuce base instead of the sushi rice but the veg was so fresh and tasty i didn't even feel like i was missing out. the toppings are all also superb and paired really well with the poke and lettuce base, i had the pumpkin, tomatoes, honey pineapple, jalapeño (this was stellar), wakame and furikake i was thoroughly impressed! 14.50 on grab

My go to poke bowl! Always coming here before/after gym. A nice and chill place to hang with friends too when you need a more quiet place. Portions are generally big and filling. Generally their salmons are fresh too, and I think they give a decent portion of the proteins. I also appreciate the variety of condiments and sauces we can take for free to add onto our own poke bowl — which makes it super delicious. portion size depends on who serves you. this outlet seems to have garlic in their shoyu fish as well, which sets them apart from other outlets. has a lot of flies flying around the place.

Had a great experience at Poke Theory Telok Ayer! The location is super convenient, and the food is always fresh and tasty. Special shoutout to Veenila and Imran for being so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Their great service really made the experience even better. It’s always nice to be greeted by staff who are genuinely friendly and attentive. Definitely a great spot for a quick and healthy meal around Telok Ayer. Will be back!

40 bucks for 2 bowls and 2 drinks, price is alright. Portion is sizeable. Salmon cubes are fresh and yummy. Lots of toppings require additional top up of 50c to 2 bucks. Space can get cramped, lots of 4 seaters by the wall along the walkway can only comfortably accommodate 2. Queue moves fast. Super crowded at 12.30pm. Moderate noisy and lots of movement, but can hold decent conversation.
