Had such a lovely dinner at Bisco Sakaba! It’s run by a Japanese couple, with the husband doing all the cooking. You can really tell how much care he puts into the food. Everything we had was so fresh and almost everything was cooked to perfection. You can really feel the respect he has for the dishes through the food. We had the Yuzu Daikon, Dashi Egg, Hokkaido Hotate Carpaccio, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Wagyu Steak, Squid Avocado Salad and a Pomodoro & Mozzarella Pasta. The Dashi Egg is definitely a must try! The texture of the egg yolk was something I’ve never had before. It was so soft and almost melted in my mouth. The Hokkaido hotate was also super fresh. My husband usually doesn’t eat raw food but he actually liked the scallop here, so that says a lot! 😂 The squid avocado salad was another favourite. The squid was cooked just right, not chewy at all, and went so well with the avocado, nuts and salad vegetables. The Brussels sprouts were SO good too. And ooof, the Wagyu steak 🤌🏻 It’s quite different from the usual Western style of cooking. The meat was so soft, not gamey or chewy, and I really loved the sauces that came with it. I think it was a pumpkin sauce and a mushroom ragu, and the mushroom was sooo good. We also had the Pomodoro & Mozzarella Pasta. This was probably the most so-so dish for us, but the tomato sauce itself was really good! OH and please try their homemade lemonade! It was SOOO GOOD. 🍋 Definitely one of those drinks where you immediately want another glass. The space is really small, basically an L shaped counter bar with a few tables on the side, but I actually really liked it. It felt cosy and intimate, and surprisingly we could still have a proper conversation without having to shout at each other. 😂 Overall, really enjoyed our dinner here. Fresh ingredients, great cooking and you can really tell the chef puts a lot of heart into what he makes. Definitely a place I’d come back to!

I had high expectations, but unfortunately this was a disappointing experience from start to finish. We started with the duck fat potatoes, which honestly tasted like plain boiled potatoes with little to no richness or crispness. It was something I could easily make at home. Next came the pomodoro pasta, and it tasted as though it was made with a generic pre-made tomato sauce rather than a freshly prepared one. Considering the prices, the quality of the food simply didn't justify the cost. We had also ordered the wagyu steak, but after being told it would take 40–60 minutes and already feeling underwhelmed by the first two dishes, we decided to cancel it rather than risk another disappointment. To top it off, the restaurant has a number of dining rules, including requiring every guest to order a drink. That wouldn't have bothered me if the food had been worth it, but when the meal itself falls so short, these policies only make the experience feel even less customer-friendly. Overall, the food lacked execution, the pricing felt unjustified, and the rigid dining policies left a poor impression. Sadly, this isn't a place I'd return to or recommend.

Overall a great meal! Favourite would be the eggs with dashi. The tuna in their current special menu has an interesting flavour, a bit of an unexpected kick, which was delightful. Pate and Brussels sprouts were good, but the beef bourguignon was a little lacking. Very tender and soft, but flavour-wise, a little underwhelming.

An amazing experience at Bisco sakaba. It’s a nice cosy space with an open concept, where you see the chef prepare the food right in front of you. Our fave was the simple egg dish - deceptively simple but so layered in taste and texture! Every single dish was good, and the sakes we ordered were fantastic as well.

Vibey, trendy and at the front of the local sake/ Japanese wine scene. Bisco Sakaba gets food and drink right. Think Japanese tapas, small plates with curated wine (old world + Japanese new wave) and sake lists. The crowd is discerning and modern. Many Japanese and locals frequent this place. So many pop-up events here it’s crazy. Menu is seasonal to capture the best ingredients. Everyone orders the seasonal fish and Dashi Egg. Burrata is good to graze on. Helps if you come in a group of 3-4. 100+ for food and drink. Killer desserts (the nougat!!) reservations a must!

It’s a new styled Japanese izakaya. The menu is short and simple. It does not serve traditional Japanese dishes like sushi or sashimi. Instead, it is a fusion style mixed with modern western style. The staffs are Japanese. The chef is the husband and the wife serves the tables. I thought the Japanese style is not there. This, The food is 4/5. General service is expected to be at Japanese politeness. However, there was a sense of hurrying to get dishes to finished. Also, we had a friend joining towards the middle of the course. The staff refused to arrange a seat for him as he had to stand for the dinner the whole time. Both of these are the reasons I gave a 3/5 stars. The atmosphere is stylish and chic for a Japanese izakaya. The place looks new. I gave it a 5/5 for the atmosphere. Overall it is a 4/5 place which I would like to go back to explore more dishes.

Bisco Sabaka is an absolute standout, and their signature dishes truly showcase the kitchen’s skill and creativity. The grilled oden is unforgettable — smoky, comforting, and perfectly charred, bringing out deep, layered flavours in every bite. The egg dish is a masterclass in simplicity done right: silky, delicate, and packed with subtle richness that lingers beautifully. And the duck liver pâté is exceptional — smooth, luxurious, and balanced with just the right touch of sweetness and acidity. Every plate reflects precision, passion, and thoughtful craftsmanship. Paired with warm service and a cosy atmosphere, Bisco Sabaka delivers a dining experience that feels both refined and heartfelt. Highly recommended — a must-visit for anyone who

Had a great time here. It has that small jap bar feel with mostly counter seating, good music and atmosphere. We did the tasting menu. Eggs, pasta and steak were great. The anko karaage tasted great too, though the batter was falling apart a bit too much. Homemade highball was yummy too, tastes like chai tho slightly diluted by the ice. Food was paced well and service was good. Overall just a rly fun and easy place to be at.
