Finally paid a visit here to try the dish created by Masterchef. Was told by friends who tried not to come at mealtimes else waiting time might be long. So I visited on a weekend around 430pm, there were no lights at the stall so I thought they were sold out but actually they were still in business. Didn't know what to order so decided to get the chicken, was initially thinking if could add on the unagi but there was any option, so I added the bergedil, egg and otah. Got a shock when I saw the current queue number and the number on my receipt, there were at least 20 orders before me! Thought it was so strange at this time to be crowded but thank god the numbers wasn't updated and I got my meal in 5 minutes. Quite a good presentation I would say. Quite a bit on the tray and was trying to figure what's which. The rice was pretty fragrant with a light nasi lemak taste. Achar was pretty crunchy, the chilli looked spicy but it's actually not and also quite appetizing. Loved the egg with the kecap manis, had to ask the stall for more of the sauce. The begedil for me was a disappointment though, small for the price and there were no flavours to it, just tasted like plain steamed potatoes in the inside. The otah was surprisingly good, loved the outer fried crispy layer, though might have been left for some time the crispiness was still there. The chicken thighs portion wasn't big, but I though the flavours were good and the meat was tender. Was probably also left for some time hence the skin wasn't so crispy anymore. The crumbs looked interesting and appealing but for me it was the item which I wanted to feedback for it. I was expecting it to taste like the kind you get from the prawn oatmeal but it was so dry and flat. It's crumbs but it's not hot or crispy at all so it fell short of expectations. Everything in the dish was okay except for this. Hope they will improve on this and make their items hot and crispy if possible, I know at times it's difficult when the human traffic gets high. However I think you should keep your items crispy in a berempah dish. Am definitely interested to go back and try the unagi one and hopefully it will improve.

Came here to try with a friend after seeing it on TikTok. As I am a pescatarian, I tried the fish option. The fish was quite a big piece.. I think they used dory fish which I don’t quite fancy. But then again, for the price that we were paying, it can only be dory. It tasted a bit salty to both my friend and me, not sure if it was the crumbs that were salty or what. The plate came with lemak rice, achar and sambal chilli too. The lemak rice was a bit too mushy to my liking.. I like my rice to be fluffy and separate. The portion of the achar is a little pathetic.. it’s either you give or you don’t give.. don’t give a pathetic portion which doesn’t look good. The sambal chilli was ok, not spicy. I’m not sure if I will order from this stall again when I come back here for meals, however they have a constant stream of customers that means something must be good. Maybe the chicken is good ba… that’s for the rest to find out.

The rice was cooked perfectly with a mild fragrant of coconut milk. Chicken thigh was of a good size and well fried with a crisp skin. The breadcrumbs were addictive similar to cereal and it also contained deep fried shrimps. Archar was fresh and tangy. A dollop of homemade sambal was served and be forewarned that it was very spicy. Overall a good plate of berempah which offers a good value proposition.

Went down because of the TikTok ad. The presentation looks nice. The cereal mix over the chicken is generous but chicken is very dry and meat tough to cut. Chicken is tasteless which is supposed to have spices infused into the marination. Rice has no lemakness to it. The Bergadil is oily to the taste. The achar is the only saving grace. Also, just a word on hygiene: staff could net or cap hair and if he had been seen scratching his head, he should either wash his hands after that or refrain from serving food. Hope improvement can be made based on the many reviews given as we only hope the quality of the food stays good for the young entrepreneurs to stay successful.

Noticed their first stall at BW but it is too far .. gave SK stall a try today since it is nearer to me. Like I said B4, judge for ourselves .. NEVER believe self-defined FOOD KOLs .. what do they know ? I will write what I ate. Read they improved their pork recipe in their earlier social feed but I got separation of batter from meat for PORK BEREMPAH and soggy too. Wasn't expecting that since they supposedly made improvement after receiving feedback. The chicken and its batter held on better. However, why was it so DARK ? Simple diners only expect GOLDEN BROWN for deep fried items before speculating the oil was re-used several times resulting in a very "DARK BROWN" chicken ? Anyway, I had simple expectations but it was not met. I did not enjoy my meal, likely raised expectations due to all these 5-stars ratings. I have decided that I will not be a repeat customer. If you intend to give this a shot, manage your expectations or u might be disappointed. I wish them well .. they said they value feedback so they should improve over time ? Meanwhile, will save my tummy for the next talk of the town :)

Very overrated, ordering system is a mess. Keep jumping my number 444, calling at 456. First time ask them said number will jump after another 5 numbers called I went to check again they lost my slip! Not even apologetic! Taste like someone put soggy cereal bits into my rice, half way in I even forgot that it was coconut rice, it was absolutely tasteless. I give them many chances to apologise, they don’t bother. Food like it was left untouched for 2 hours, very cold. Overall never coming back here. Spend yr dinner money elsewhere. Derek I trusted you to cook nice food or at least uphold your quality and reputation.

Err got a lot of room for improvement Don’t really have a wow factor on the plate I think this cannot survive in Malaysia If I wanna tapau something from the plate would be maybe the rice or sambal Chicken feels like left outside for some time then fry again to sort of reheat Flavour wise not the best I’ve tasted Would not recommend my friends to come and try tbh Rice is fluffy and okayish fragrant Sambal is hot and sweet Would prefer egg to be freshly fried coz other elements on the plate already not super good so at least make sure something as simple as telur mata to be okay ba Jia you

Tried this because of the recent social media hype, but go in with your expectations managed. I’d say only try it if you happen to be in the area and there’s no queue. It’s disappointing that, despite the MasterChef label, I have had better begedil elsewhere. The berempah leans a little too sweet for my liking and reminds me of tze char cereal-style dishes; it lacks the aromatics that would really lift the flavours. The sunny side up was also quite sloppily done (see pic). Instead of focusing so much on marketing and influencer reviews, I hope they’ll put more effort into refining the food itself, so it doesn’t disappoint those who make a special trip down just to try it.
