The Coconut Club

First time visiting, and we were seated at the high table. The café has a lovely vibe with a warm and cozy atmosphere, although the space is a little limited. Unfortunately, the air-conditioning wasn’t working during our visit, so we were literally enjoying our food while sweating — no joke! 😅 We ordered the coconut rice and jasmine rice. The texture of both was a little too firm for our liking and could have been softer. The fried rempah chicken was juicy and tender on the inside, although we felt the flavour could have been a little more pronounced. The fried eggplant was definitely one of our favourites among the dishes we tried. It came with a spicy rempah sauce and a refreshing hint of fresh pomelo, which gave it a nice balance. For the barramundi, it would have been even better if the portion was slightly bigger, especially for sharing. Overall, it was still a good dining experience, especially if you’re looking for dishes with a more local flavour. Hopefully the air-conditioning issue was just temporary! 😅

Coconut Beach Club serves Southeast Asian favourites with a stylish twist. We tried the rojak, laksa and beef cheek rendang, and all three were really well executed, with familiar flavours given a creative touch. The drinks menu is creative too, with plenty of good cocktail and mocktail choices. Service was fast and friendly, and we really enjoyed our lunch here. I especially loved the tropical, relaxed atmosphere — it has that easy holiday mood that makes you feel like you’re somewhere away on vacation, even just for lunch.

Oh my gosh, first time EVER leaving a ONE star review. Coz this NEEDS to be talked about. What do you mean you can EAT.RAW.CHICKEN????????? this is such a high risk claim?????? From a Michelin star resto?????? First of all I called the staff's attention on my order once I've managed to cut through it...and I'm like what if they probably didn't mean to serve the raw pink bloody chicken. The staff that I called was shocked to see it so he asked his manager about it...the lady at the bar. And she told me, "...this means it's a free range chicken. IT'S SAFE TO EAT." GUUUUUUURL...... giiiiiiirl, I know what a cooked chicken looks like, I've ate different types of it. Heck I've even had my grandma's chicken freshly butchered outside of our farm so yeah I know what a free range chicken looks like if COOKED properly and this ain't it. ALSO?? what do you mean you can eat it as is???? THIS IS VERY CONCERNING. Salmonella must've been waving when I saw the blood trickled down on my chicken. So that's safe...sure... She asked "if you want, we can have it recooked for you." I stared at her for a couple of seconds, flabbergasted at that notion, before I replied yes. Like it's an option to not cook it.......what??????? Anyways, I got a freshly cooked chicken from the kitchen, delivered by the chef, and just to be sure I had to cut through it, and wouldn't you guess it, it's pinkish red....again. I just accepted defeat and ate around my 26.38 SGD chicken and took a picture of it. Like, how did this become a MICHELIN STAR RESTO if you push your customers to eat raw chicken, and had it recooked and still make the same mistake???? All of the one star reviews were spot on. So yeah, eat at your own risk. If you're into free range raw chickens, this is the perfect spot to get it. Other than that. Stay far away.

Food - 5/5 (The chicken nasi lemak was really yummy, chicken was tender and rest), the satay is on a drier side which I didnt quite like. The teh tarih less sweet was good. Atmosphere- love this cosier setting vs New Bahru's one. My top choice to bring overseas guests! The Michelin's status year on year and 大众点评 signs were also great to anchor the expectations at the entrance that this place is good.

Hands down one of my favorite spots for brunch! I absolutely love the Nasi Lemak at The Coconut Club—the coconut rice is amazingly fragrant, rich, and flavorful, paired with crisp chicken and fantastic sambal. The Beach Road location has a wonderful, lively ambiance and beautiful decor that makes it such an enjoyable venue to relax and catch up over a meal. Highly recommended if you're craving elevated local comfort food!

We arrived around 6 PM without a reservation, and luckily, a small table with high legs was available. The dining atmosphere was quite pleasant, not noisy, and the indoor temperature was comfortable. The roasted chicken leg and stewed beef were delicious, as were the appetizers and coconut milkshake.

This place offers Indonesian home-style cooking in a pleasant atmosphere. The staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. They suggested trying everything together, which gave it a unique flavor; however, since I don't usually eat anchovies, there was a fishy aftertaste at the end. After that, I removed them, and it was quite good.

Very cute restaurant that filled up quickly! The food was good, I wouldn’t say it was exceptional. I ordered the classic friend chicken and a grapefruit juice. Everything was yummy but I think you could find something similar in a hawker center if I’m honest. The best thing about this spot was the vibe. Very lovely atmosphere!
