You can get coconut chicken soup here, although we weren’t expecting it to be quite so sweet. Perhaps we are more familiar with savory soup. The chicken was also on the tougher side. The steamed fish, however, was very fresh and is something we would recommend. The chives with egg were quite nice too, while the nai bai vegetables were a little too salty for our liking. The portion sizes were fairly standard, and the overall taste was decent but not particularly outstanding. The dishes we ordered are shown in the picture, along with four bowls of rice and one canned drink. Waitress was somewhat friendly and recommended dishes to us. We spent a total of $181.60, so the price is definitely on the steeper side.

Such a cozy private kitchen for a family celebration. Expecting our Google reservation to be confirmed but apparently they only accept reservations via call or WhatsApp, so they never received it. It was a festive occasion and many families were dining out, but thankfully, we arrived around 5pm and one of the lady boss was incredibly kind and accommodating after seeing that we had already made the trip down. She arranged a table for us that was reserved for a later timing, which we really appreciated. Food was absolutely delicious! Very comforting and nostalgic, truly ahma style home-cooked dishes (很有阿嬷的味道). Out of all the dishes we ordered, the 椰子鸡汤 is a definite must-try > rich, naturally sweet, and so comforting. We also loved the egg omelette with 青龙菜 simple but perfectly cooked! Warm hospitality and hearty homestyle food made this a really memorable dining experience. Will come back for sure!

A hidden gem for authentic Ipoh-style home cooking by Hainanese owners. What impressed me most is that the food here is cooked with real ingredients and no MSG, yet every dish is full of flavour. You can truly taste the sincerity behind the cooking. The 椰子走地鸡汤 completely won my heart. The broth was light, naturally sweet from the coconut, and deeply comforting. One sip instantly reminded me of the soups my grandma used to cook when I was young. That kind of nostalgic, heartwarming taste is very rare to find these days. Another must-try is the 咸蛋豆腐煲. The dish was incredibly rich and umami, yet surprisingly clean-tasting knowing that no MSG is used. The balance of salted egg and tofu was just perfect. We also ordered some very home-style dishes like 韭菜煎蛋, where they used 青龙菜, giving it a unique texture and fragrance. The 黑酱油炒猪肉 was another simple dish, but it tasted exactly like something cooked in a home kitchen — comforting, fragrant, and satisfying. Sometimes the simplest dishes are the hardest to execute well, and they did it beautifully. I also noticed they have a 黄酒鸡 that uses four different types of wine, which sounds incredibly special. Definitely coming back to try that next time. You can really feel this restaurant is 用心经营 — honest food, nostalgic flavours, and dishes cooked with heart. Absolutely a well-deserved 5 stars.

Very authentic sorta traditional Malaysian-style food. One thing which really impressed me was the cleanliness. With the amount of decorative hangings about, you'd have expected some dust, but nope. I find that cleanliness of the place and utensils is usually a good barometer for the quality of the food in advance, as people who are more fussy about their hygene tend to be more detail-oriented in general. Havn't had hakka wine chicken for ages, and the trademark vegetable egg dish was great as well. Prices were a little steep however. Charming and comfy decor and seats, a little pseudo-Peranakan, but not quite. When I remarked about the statue of a dancing Ganesh where a chinese altar usually is in very traditional shops, and was treated to an ironic tale by the proprietor, about how it was picked up from the rubbish. Despite the 'wu you' name, they don't seem very outwardly buddhist. Which in a way does fit with many unassuming buddhist devotees in Singapore. They're next to a buddhist society tho. Prices are quiteeee steep though.

A very cozy, homely restaurant run by friendly owners from Ipoh! True to its name, it really felt like an "Ipoh Private Kitchen" (怡宝私房菜). There’s no regular menu, only a special selection recommended by the owner. No prices listed either. There’s just one chef, and they proudly mentioned that they don’t use any MSG — which I believe, because we weren’t even thirsty after having two soups! We tried the Yellow Wine Kampung Chicken Soup and the Claypot Hainanese Coconut Kampung Chicken Soup. I can’t quite recall the taste of the latter, but the former was delicious! The Chilli Jumbo Prawns were great too! Slightly spicy with a hint of sweetness. The prawns were huge and very fresh! We also had their signature Egg with 青龙菜; a favourite of mine because I love 青龙菜, and this dish didn’t disappoint. The Braised Pork Belly was excellent. The rich, flavourful gravy paired perfectly with rice. We also ordered the Tofu with Salted Egg Sauce. Unlike many places that use powder, they used actual salted egg yolk. It was interesting, though I found the taste a little on the mild side. They also offer homemade drinks. We tried the Chestnut with Lychee drink. I expected something light and watery, but it turned out to be thick and dessert-like. Took me a while to enjoy, but the idea of using lychee as a natural sweetener with chestnut bits was clever and tasty! The total bill came up to nearly $300 for 9 pax. A little pricey, but still fair for the quality and uniqueness of the food. Overall, a warm, humble little place that I’d definitely love to return to! It’s a great spot for a family dinner too!

Ordered their seasonal braised pork belly and their tofu, portions were so ridiculously small and worse of all the taste was below average. The pork belly is all fats and filled with oil, I have might as well buy a bottle of oil and drink it there wouldn't be any difference. And for fifty dollars I was so shocked when I saw the portion size ( shown in the pic below). The tofu was so bland it felt like eating rubber. I beg to whoever comes here to leave before losing money over food that would make you vomit.

very homey food! even the setting of the place feels like home. came alone so I ordered the today's special pork ribs soup set meal which came with rice and kailan as the veg. the pork ribs and chicken feet inside are fall of the bone and very tender. but what impressed me is how tasty the soup is and no tasting of MSG. the amount of meat was quite generous and overall it tastes very healthy. the lady boss was very friendly, checking with me and briefly explained the dish to me. no svc charge and gst, will come back to try the other dishes

A cosy spot serving authentic Malaysian, especially Ipoh-style, comfort food. The dishes are well seasoned and satisfying, with standouts like cod fish and tomato stir fried eggs. The restaurant is impressively clean despite its colourful, character-filled decor, which adds to its warm, homey atmosphere. The chef-owners are clearly passionate, and some ingredients are sourced from Malaysia, enhancing the authenticity. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality and overall experience make it worth a visit.
