I missed out on a trip to India a couple of months ago and coming here felt like I was transported back to the flavors I love there. The depth of tastes was so complex and can only be achieved with Indian cuisine and chef Thevar was able to showcase it so well. The presentation of dishes were also super impressive and truly deserving of the accolades he has achieved to date. Only disappointed it took me this long to discover this place! Will be back again on special occasions.

I’ve been to plenty of fine dining restaurants in Singapore, and I can confidently say that Thevar has one of the best flavour combinations I’ve ever experienced. The dishes are bold and interesting — yet everything works beautifully together. Not a single dish tasted boring. I requested a no-shellfish alternative, and it was just as delicious and thoughtfully prepared. My partner had the shellfish options, and they looked even better 😵💫 He even said it was the best lobster he has ever tasted! The meal started strong and ended just as strong. The desserts were especially refreshing — not overly sweet, but perfectly balanced to round off the experience. Kudos to the pastry chef! Normally, I don’t write reviews, but this place truly deserves to be praised. A small suggestion — it would be even better if the background music featured some traditional Indian music to better match the restaurant’s vibe and ambience. Perhaps incorporating more Indian-inspired decorations, or even staff wearing Indian-inspired attire, would make the dining experience feel even more immersive and enhance the story telling behind the cuisines . Will definitely be recommending this to friends and family!

The best of Singapore's Michelin 2-stars I tried — and I went in skeptical. Cloudstreet got blacklisted. Meta was solid. Thevar genuinely surprised me. Indian-influenced fusion that actually earns the label — the spice work is confident without being overwhelming, and it feels locally rooted without being a gimmick. About two-thirds of the menu was excellent. The shirako with Indian seasoning was an unexpected highlight — didn't think I'd see that combination work, but it did. The chicken naan taco with that filling? Really good. Second half dropped off a bit — the grilled squid ran too salty (even for someone who’s drinking an entire bottle of wine alone 🧐) and the spiced lamb was too gamey for me. High opening, slightly uneven landing. Practical tip: book the kitchen counter!! You're literally sitting inside the kitchen watching the pass — full Chef's Table experience, no surcharge. The sommelier is also delightful, which helped smooth over the wobbles in the back half of the menu. Already booked second return 🥰🥰

We decided to book a table to celebrate my mom’s birthday the other day — and it was an excellent choice! The meal started off beautifully with three snacks, each one bursting with flavor and absolutely delicious. The fish course was fantastic — perfectly cooked with crispy scales and a delicious sauce that brought everything together. The lamb was just as impressive — tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. But dessert… oh man, it was truly memorable! From the first dessert to the very last bite, every element hit the spot — sweet, sour, refreshing, and beautifully presented. You could really tell how much thought went into balancing the flavors. We’ll definitely be back to try the new menu. Highly recommend!

The only 2 Michelin Start Indian restaurant in Singapore offers a fantastic dining experience. It's a fairly small place - clean but not too fancy, which is made up in the food. The service was personal. As the dishes came one by one - they were lip smackingly delicious from start to finish. From the Wagyu idli to the carrot Pani puri, to the Yuzu Ishtu, and Lamb Biryani, and amazing dessert - every Indian dish was elevated and perfectly done. They even gave me a list of other Michelin star restaurants in the area to try.

Delightfully special 2 hr experience for special occasions. Go on a journey with Thevar’s inspirations from and inventions on many Indian classics. Expect it to be deconstructed, tactile, and totally delicious in every sip and every bite.

Thevar deserves recognition beyond its current two Michelin stars. This fine dining establishment, under the leadership of Chef Mano Thevar and his exceptional team, offers an extraordinary culinary experience. Their passion for blending diverse spices with exquisite cuisine is truly palpable. Notably, Chef Thevar's generosity was evident when he honored his cleaner with a Michelin-level meal in their exclusive second-floor dining area. We were immensely impressed by the food, ambiance, and service, ranking Thevar among the top three Michelin restaurants we've experienced, surpassing even some three-star Michelin establishments in Singapore. We look forward to returning and thank Chef Thevar and his team for making our dinner and birthday celebration truly unforgettable.

The environment is very nice, and the decoration has a little Anaman-like feel. The quantity of snacks is extremely abundant. There are actually five types, and the sour and spicy flavors expressed by the chief are very thorough. The first dish is seafood, and the cooking method of grilled fish scales is very stunning. It was handled very well, extremely crispy and tender. The bread paired with the sauce was a bit mediocre, and the bread dominated the flavor. Starting from this dish of octopus, perhaps the kitchen ran out of salt, and the saltiness rose sharply. The sauce was a bit monotonous, but the skin of the octopus was really exaggeratedly salty. An additional dish today was the Japanese imperial crab specially selected by the chief in the morning, still very salty. If the saltiness of the seafood itself is not handled well, the freshness disappears. The rice and soup below were seasoned, perhaps they were great on their own, but when combined together, they were a bit too chaotic. The Indian chicken Taco is superb. Although the seasoning is strong, there is still a hint of freshness. It is bold yet with a touch of depth. So you are a mature dish. The grilled lamb chop is very tender, and the chief is very good at using kiwi, which is also my favorite sauce. The smooth ice cream is moderate in taste, and the honeydew dessert is quite common, but the freshness of the honeydew is truly outstanding. I thought it was over, but unexpectedly, a dessert was served at the end, which is my favorite sweet and savory perpetual motion machine. The caramelized sugar of the toffee leaves a lingering fragrance that I can't forget for a long time.
