Muthu's Curry

This was my first time in Singapore on a business trip, and a colleague from Johor Bahru, Malaysia, recommended trying the curry fish head. So we went to Muthu’s Curry. We only ordered one biryani, one curry fish head, and one naan (flatbread), which was enough for the two of us. The curry fish head was especially delicious with rice. The serving dish, served on a banana leaf, was very authentic. They serve flatbread (I heard it's refillable, but I'm not sure; we almost couldn't finish everything else). The flatbread can be mixed with the biryani for added texture and flavor. The Mutton Biryani comes with curry sauce. First, mix the curry sauce into the rice, then scoop it onto a banana leaf (no need to use your hands; of course, you should fully immerse yourself in the culture, and no one will stop you). You can then mash the mutton from the rice along with the flatbread to enjoy. I felt the complimentary curry sauce wasn't enough; you can add more curry fish head broth. The curry fish head was delicious; the fish was incredibly tender, and the addition of okra to the curry broth was a unique touch. Don't let the small size in the photo fool you—there was a generous amount of fish. Freshly baked naan (flatbread) was dipped directly into the curry fish head broth, soaking up the sauce completely before being put in your mouth. The aroma of curry filled your mouth, instantly transporting you to India. Finally, an ice-cold beer—truly a godsend for business trips. (The beer glasses were also iced, a definite plus!)

We come here often. The food here is consistently delicious, and the service always fantastic. Solomon and the other staff members were friendly and attentive. We always have their signature fish head curry, potato and fish cutlets and tika masala chicken. We like that their papadam and vegetables are free flow. Highly recommended, however parking is a problem I suggest you park at the MSCP upon arrival instead of circling around. Price slightly on the high side!!

Excellent Indian food served in a very posh environment with excellent and attentive service. The food portions are very generous. Every single dish was well prepared and very flavorful. The dessert was the highlight! Highly recommended! Thumbs up! Will be back. The food is great, but the price is quite steep.

Muthu's Curry is a very wonderful restaurant in Little India. It's not hard to find at all! Its bright lights will be very easy to find! As soon as we entered, we were greeted with a very warm welcome and were shown to our seats. We had booked a reservation for 7, seeing that it's a very popular restaurant. We got a complementary bowl of delicious fried Pappadams. It was very crisp and yummy. We were presented with our menus and began to start ordering. For drinks, we ordered 4 fresh lime soda and a jug of Heineken Beer. Well as for starters, we ordered Chicken -65 and Paneer Pakoda. The Chicken -65 was very crisp and almost tasted like fried chicken! The Paneer Pakoda was crispy on the outside but soft and flavourful on the inside. Not to forget, we also ordered some very crispy and flavourful Tandoori Chicken. For mains, we got a Naan Basket, Butter Naan, Butter Chicken, Romali Roti and Paneer Tikka Masala. The Naan Basket contained many different types of Naan, all wonderfully presented. Not only did they look good, but they also tasted excellent. The butter chicken was very creamy and felt very light. The Romali Roti tasted like mashed Roti with vegetables! However, the taste was exquisite. The Paneer Tikka Masala had a slight hint of spice but tasted awesome! It was like a meal that had all the flavours! In the end, we were very pleased with this restaurant. Overall, this place is wonderful to have meetings, or just to catch up with friends. I will definitely come back to this superb Indian restaurant.

I had a really nice meal at Muthu's Curry, and one person who stood out was Venkat. He was patient, attentive, and helpful without making things feel rushed. The fish curry was especially memorable for me because it was rich and flavorful, with none of that strong fish smell that can sometimes put you off. I’d happily come back again.

The chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken were both rich and flavourful, with the tender chicken going extremely well with the sauces. However, the portion was a bit small for the price ($19 each) with around 4-5 pieces of chicken for each dish. The white rice with vegetables and pappadam was a great value for $4.90, with free flow rice and tasty spicy vegetables. Overall a pretty good meal!

Excellent hospitality by Ms. Thelaga. Her warm attitude, attention to detail, and commendable service made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The food was outstanding — fresh ingredients, great taste, and excellent quality in every dish. The flavours were well-balanced, portions were satisfying, and the presentation was impressive. A wonderful experience overall, with great service and delicious food. Highly recommended!

Visited Muthu’s Curry recently and had a great experience overall. The signature curry fish head was really good I.e rich, flavorful, and well-balanced without being overly heavy. Definitely lives up to its reputation. I also appreciated the chai tea, which was made just the way I like it . not too sweet, allowing the spices to come through nicely. Service was very attentive throughout the meal, with staff checking in regularly and making sure everything was in order. A solid spot if you’re craving authentic and hearty Indian cuisine.
