Incredible dining experience. It's good to see an Indian restaurant with a minimal menu focusing on specialties. The recommended lime juice was perfect, it had plenty of lime zest and offered a refreshing quench to the spicy and firey dishes. The chicken 65 was by far the best I've had and the mutton mysore was by far the best dish I had on my 11 day trip to Singapore and I've visited $200 pp Michelin star restaurants. The service was prompt and professional, with a table of 8 nothing was forgotten and nobody felt excluded or left out of the fantastic dining experience. Would definitely dine here again and I'm looking forward to it

Very solid fish head curry with quick service. Atmosphere is alright, gets very warm as it is open air. Reservation is recommended but not needed. Walk-in only needed 10mins. Fish head curry ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Fish is fresh, curry is rich and flavourful. Curry is a pleasant spiciness, giving a good kick without overwhelming the flavour of the spices Fish cutlet ⭐️⭐️ - Personal preference, flavour is okay but the filling falls apart, making it difficult to eat. Masala Chicken ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Pretty good, good for people who have heavy palates. Chicken on the dry side but the spices are very prominent in the sauce.

18 April 2026 (Saturday) Pretty disappointing overall. The fish head curry didn’t taste right — the fish seemed of poor quality, with a strong, unpleasant fishiness. The palak paneer was also a letdown. It looked unappetising, tasted off, and felt like it had been sitting out for wayyyy too long. The butter chicken wasn’t impressive either — the gravy became watery after a short while and frankly, theres no taste or smell of any hints of butter at all. Chicken tikka was ok, but the tandoori chicken was below expectation, lacking flavour and proper execution. I’m a big fan of both southern and northern Indian food and have tried it across restaurants, coffeeshops, and even in India. Given the reputation, this experience fell short of what I had expected. Much improvement on food quality is needed.

I have seen videos of this restaurant and have it saved to try for a while, and I finally visited on a Sunday. It is recommended that you make a reservation because there was a rather long walk in line when we reached, and I'm thankful I made a reservation. We ordered the large fish head curry, biryani, squid in black sauce and mango lassi. I really liked the flavours from the fish head curry, and the biryani was flavorful too! The mango lassi was also delicious and the papadum was so nice I got 4 packets as takeaway. I highly recommend giving the food here a try! The cost is also really reasonable even though they are at Dempsey. This meal costed $98.10 for 3 pax.

Samy’s Curry: The best shrimp I have ever eaten! I visited for dinner at 7 PM on a weekday. The indoor area was very busy, so I sat outside in the hallway. It was a bit dark out there due to a lack of lighting, but the atmosphere was still nice. The Food: The Fish Head Curry, squid, and shrimp were all wonderful. I have eaten shrimp in many places, but the shrimp here is truly the best—it is big, fresh, and incredibly tasty. It is a "must-try" dish! Service Tip: One thing to note is that they do not provide paper tissues on the tables. You will need to head to the restroom to wash your hands after your meal. The Verdict: Despite the dim lighting outside, it was a lovely and delicious Indian dinner. I highly recommend it for the seafood alone!

I recently celebrated an anniversary dinner with my family at Samy's Curry in Dempsey, and it was a delightful experience! Our large group decided to order a variety of dishes from the menu, and every single one was absolutely delicious. The flavorful offerings truly impressed us all. Although it was a bit challenging to catch the attention of the staff in the air-conditioned room, the overall atmosphere made it a pleasant dining experience. We left with full bellies and happy hearts! Highly recommend for any celebration!

We have been to Samys Curry Restaurant for a lunch with our client. Its a very good restaurant for a casual lunch or dinner especially if you are a non vegetarian lovers. There is a lot of choice for non veg food. We had a good pomfret, Mysore mutton, crab masala apart from the biryani rice and chicken curry. Everything tasted good. Particularly loved the mutton together with the biryani and chicken curry. We also had a coconut water which was refreshing. The atmosphere is very casual and I would not say this is a classy restaurant. Its good for a friends or colleagues lunch or dinner. Would go again for sure

A well known place on internet for their fish head curry and seeing that I always wanted to try here. Went here on sunday hence couldn’t get online booking and walked in, got seat within 5 mins. Ordered their cauliflower 65 which was very good in flavours but too oily. The fish cutlet was perfectly cooked in egg and filled with rich flavours of fish and loved it. The fish head curry was definitely a droll worthy dish and show stealer. The fish was fresh and the curry was richly packed with flavours, served pipping hot. The curry had brinjal and ladies finger which is usually love and was great. I paired it with plain white rice which you once and get unlimited with 2 veggies. Was worth all the money and was totally in love with it. The small packs can be shared by 2-3 persons easily. Lastly got their rasam which was really good packed with umami flavours and must try at the end. Don’t forget to taste the rasam which helps in digestion too. Worth coming here when near demsy area and i will definitely go back again for their taste and quality.
