This bar focuses on experimental gin infusions such as mala baby abalone, salted oysters, mapo tofu as well as wine-washed cheese. We were quite reserved in our options because we went with black lime and dried shrimps 🤪 My bespoke drink was a 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫-𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥 made with a dried shrimps infusion paired with ume for a sweet, sour and savoury experience. While my partner’s 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐤𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐧, made with a black lime infusion, bak kut teh spices topped with olives for a savoury, peppery kick. If you prefer slightly safer options, they do have a menu that changes frequently where you can choose how crazy/safe and easy/stiff you prefer your cocktails! I got the 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞 & 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 that was sweet and creamy with a lovely fragrance of red dates, highly up my alley. While my partner got the 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧, 𝐔𝐦𝐞 & 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐦 𝐎𝐥𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝 that was stiff and spiced. While the setup has changed, the things we loved most about them haven't. The space still has that cosy speakeasy feel, and their cocktails continue to showcase the same experimental spirit and creativity. Alongside their bespoke offerings, they now also have a menu that changes regularly. If you're after something beyond the usual classics, this is definitely a bar worth checking out.

A total hidden gem for cocktail lovers! 🏮🧪 Located inside The Spiffy Dapper, Oriental Elixir is famous for their super unique infusions and bespoke cocktails. It was so cool seeing the infusions on display, they have everything from Shiitake and Blue Cheese to Bak Kut Teh Spices and even La Tiao! 🌶️ The drinks range from easy-to-sip to seriously stiff. We tried the Bandung Alexander, Longan Red Wine, and the Bak Kut Teh Spices Negroni which was such a wild, herbal experience! 🌿🥃 The Dates and Barley Alexander was also a cozy, delicious favorite. 🌾 If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind cocktail experience in SG, this is it 💨

★★★★★ Found this hidden speakeasy cocktail bar 🫶🏻 The whole space felt super cosy and intimate with dim warm lighting, oriental touches and such a relaxed atmosphere. What made it extra fun was their cocktail concept — the menu changes often, so every visit feels different and makes you curious to come back again. They also have off-menu specials which felt really creative and personalised. What we had: • 𝑯𝒐𝒋𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒂 & 𝑴𝒂𝒄𝒂𝒅𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒂 𝑶𝒍𝒅 𝑭𝒂𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒅 Warm, nutty and smooth. • 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒊 𝑮𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝑪𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒚 𝑫𝒓𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒊 Definitely for adventurous drinkers 😂 spicy, savoury and unlike anything we’ve tried before. • 𝑩𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒖𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒐𝒄𝒌𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒍 Light, refreshing and easy to drink. • 𝑩𝒍𝒖𝒆 𝑪𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒄𝒌𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒍 Sounds intimidating but surprisingly refreshing. Really appreciated how experimental yet well-executed the drinks were. You can tell there’s a lot of thought behind every cocktail here. Service was warm too and the bartenders were happy to explain the flavour profiles and recommendations based on what we liked. Would definitely come back again just to see what new creations they come up with next 🍸

Amazing gin-focused cocktail bar with a creative menu that changes based on the ingredients they have. Everything we tried was so good!!! Even the more funky flavors were still rly enjoyable. We esp loved the miso paste & coconut silver sour and the hot & spicy squid. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for fun cocktails and bold flavors!

There’s actually a hidden bar inside Spiffy Dapper — just walk further in and you’ll find Oriental Elixir 🍸✨ All their drinks are gin-based, and the menu changes daily with really unique flavour combinations. You can choose from Normal to Crazy and Easy to Stiff (like 4 quadrants), which makes it super fun. I tried 2 drinks from the normal side and 2 from the crazy side. Normal: * Strawberry yoghurt, honey, nutmeg sour * Thai tea, cardamom negroni The strawberry yoghurt was my favourite. I’m not a big fan of gin, but theirs is infused so you don’t really get that strong gin taste — perfect if you don’t like strong alcohol flavours. The Thai tea one was slightly stronger but still really nice. Crazy: * Dried shrimp lime amaro sour * Spicy beancurd & latiao spritz These were actually insane 😂 The dried shrimp one literally tasted like shrimp crackers, and the spicy beancurd one had a real spicy kick. Super unique and definitely not your usual cocktails. Overall, really enjoyed it — very hidden, very vibey, and super experimental. Definitely worth a visit if you like trying interesting cocktails.

A cosy hidden bar that gives off major ancient apothecary vibes, a must-visit for gin lovers and cocktail enthusiasts, especially if you enjoy a good filthy martini!! They do mostly bespoke drinks, so just turn to the shelves of infused gin, where you’ll find all sorts of wild, wacky, and wonderful ingredients (think char siew, blue cheese, salted bacon, torched dates, fermented pineapple skin, and even Sichuan spiced duck heads), and/or get the bartender to whip up something based on your preferences—the possibilities are endless 🤪 Loved the refreshing, wonderfully fragrant Thai tea, gula melaka, ginger & lime sour; and the ssamjang (Korean soybean paste) martini, which was not just savoury, but also earthy and a little spicy. Soooo good.
