Gochu is a very cool-looking restaurant featuring stone-textured walls and large window-facing seating areas. The design and layout are well thought out, with dedicated spaces for chefs to grill BBQ for rows of guests at a time. The staff are well-trained, young, and attentive to your needs. The day we visited, they were extremely busy, which made it hard for them to be proactive, but no shade, their courtesy is entirely commendable. That said, the indoor area where we sat was rather warm, and the noise echoes were so loud that we couldn't really hear each other speak. Food-wise, the taste left a lot to be desired. We genuinely wanted to like Gochu, given the high reviews and prices, but we expected much more. Sadly, this will most probably be our last time here. Taste: Gochu Banchan: 3/5 (Kimchi tastes very acquired; up to personal preference) Butter Caramelized Hwangtae 카라멜 버터 황태: 4/5 (No refills) BBQ SELECTIONS PORK OPTION Grilled Pork Ribs 매운/달콤깔끔 쪽갈비 (Pork ribs glazed in fiery and sweet-savory goodness): 2.5/5 (Lukewarm ribs. Overhyped) Dry-aged Pork Collar 드라이 에이징 목살 (Premium pork, aged to enhance natural umami, delivering exceptional tenderness and flavor): 3/5 Potato Pancake with Parmesan Cheese 파마산 치즈를 곁들인 감자전 (Golden potato pancake): 4/5 (Comes with truffle mayo) Big Crispy Chili with Special Spicy Sauce (1pc) 특제 매운소스 대왕 고추튀김 (Golden-fried chili with minced pork, tzatziki, and spicy sauce with cheesy parmesan perfection): 5/5 (This was the best dish of the meal) MAINS Galbitang Bansang 소갈비탕 반상 (Tender beef rib broth simmered for 24 hours): 4/5 (Pleasant, with the wasabi sauce) Black Soy Cold Noodle: 0/5 (Really not to our liking. We couldn't finish two mouthfuls of this.) DESSERT Tofu Gelato: 1/5

We had Korean BBQ, so we can only comment on that. At this price point, there are easily many K BBQ that are better at a better price. The meat was cook just right, but just not fragrant vs many outlets I have been to. We didn't have beef, cos there was only one cut, so we thought the pork section is their specialty. One of the super duper rare times that ordering just the min 2 portion that we didn't want to finish the meal as it was a bit too oily. Ordered signature pork galbi and their pork collar with the thumbs up icon. They precook some meats partially in the kitchen and bring it out to the front to do the final charring. In Korea, this is what the super budget outlets does. The Banchan is nice though, Makgeolli is nice as well. Service wise, no complains, no wow as well. Ambience is as not bad, had a counter seat. Will I come back? Probably not. Many better options out there. PS: maybe we have too high expectations, as we travel to Korea just to eat. But some BBQ in SG is legit comparable to Korea ones.

Really enjoyed our experience at Gochu Korean! The food was delicious, especially the BBQ meat — tender, flavourful and nicely grilled. 😋 The portions were decent too. The ambience is really nice and different from the usual Korean BBQ restaurants. The service was friendly and attentive, and I really appreciate that they help to grill the meat for you. Overall, a great place for Korean food with family or friends. Definitely a place I would come back to ag

We visited Gochu Korean Dining & BBQ on a Sunday during lunch, and it was extremely busy. Despite the crowd, we only had to wait about 5 to 10 minutes for a table, which wasn't too bad. Since it was our first visit, one of the waiters kindly recommended some of the restaurant's signature and popular dishes for us. We ended up ordering: Grilled Pork Ribs Bansang Galbitang Bansang Grilled Rice Ball Crispy Chilli with Spicy Sauce The meal also came with free-flow kimchi, quail eggs, and pickled radish, all of which were very good. My favourite was definitely the quail eggs. There was also a complimentary serving of fried fish, but I personally didn't enjoy it as I found it a little too sweet. The standout dish for me was the grilled rice ball. It had a wonderfully crispy exterior, while the fish roe inside added another layer of texture and flavour, making it incredibly satisfying. The grilled pork ribs came with two spicy and two non-spicy pieces. Both were tender and well grilled. I especially liked the non-spicy version for its smoky flavour, while the spicy version had a pleasant kick without being overpowering. The Galbitang Bansang was another highlight. The broth had a gentle peppery flavour that was comforting rather than overwhelming, and the beef was tender and easy to eat. The crispy chilli was an interesting dish. I wasn't entirely sure what the filling was, but it was enjoyable and something a little different from the usual Korean dishes. For drinks, we tried the ginseng soda and sikhye, both of which were refreshing and paired well with the meal. The only downside was the environment. While the cave-themed interior looked unique and created a nice atmosphere, it was very noisy. The enclosed space amplified the conversations around us, and the background music was also quite loud, making it difficult to chat comfortably. Our bill came to about S$125 including GST, which I thought was very reasonable considering the quality of the food and generous portion

I absolutely loved the cave dining concept here. The restaurant is stunning every corner is so aesthetically pleasing and beautifully designed. It overlooks the golf course, which is a really nice view, but honestly the interiors alone were enough to impress me. The whole place has such a unique and memorable ambience. The food was excellent too. The galbitang was probably my favourite the beef ribs were so tender they literally fell off the bone, and the broth was rich and comforting. The prawn cabbage pancake was another standout. It was incredibly crispy and packed with umami, but surprisingly not greasy like a lot of Korean pancakes can be. Even the banchan were amazing. My personal favourite was the fried dried cuttlefish it had this caramelised, buttery flavour that was so addictive. Overall, I genuinely loved my experience here. Beautiful space, great food, and definitely somewhere I’d come back to again.

Great service from Sylvia, Jason, Mark and Lysa! The potato pancake is a must to try with a truffle dipping. The ribs are very tender and well marinated. they are very generous with the cheese portion as well. The one with the chillie sauce is a long jalapeno filled with minced meat and fried together, not as spicy as i would think it would be! despite not having rice, we are still very full after few bites.

Overall good food and service. The service crew were attentive and explained the menu well. The food was good (especially the potato pancakes and gelato) other than some minor things. My suggestion would be to separate the spicy sauce on the fried chillies because we couldn’t finish the half that was covered in the sauce. The sweet pork ribs were tender but the spicy one might have been left on the grill a bit too long because it got slightly dry. We came for my father’s birthday and they very nicely added a candle and played a birthday song. Nice place for a casual celebration 👍🏼
