If you’re looking for a value-for-money Korean BBQ buffet, this hidden gem inside ITE College Central (Ang Mo Kio) is well worth checking out. A little tip for first-timers: if you’re driving, head towards Block F and drive all the way to the end near the running track and field. The restaurant is just upstairs. If it’s raining, it’s better to park nearer the centre of the campus as you’ll need to use the staircase to get there. We arrived at around 6.30pm on a weekend, and it was a full house. The supervisor in black politely informed us there would be about a 30-minute wait, took down my number, and asked us to wait outside. While waiting, my boys had a great time kicking a football around at the nearby field, so the wait actually passed quite quickly. True enough, in less than 30 minutes, I received a call and our table for five was ready. This is definitely a no-frills Korean BBQ buffet, so don’t expect restaurant-style service. If it isn’t crowded, simply walk in, make payment at the counter, collect the receipt and the cups according to your group size, then find your seat. It works surprisingly well. Now for the food. Honestly, for $22 nett on weekends with no hidden charges, it’s hard to complain. There was a wide variety of: * Marinated and non-marinated beef, pork and chicken * Spicy and non-spicy meat selections * Prawns and squid * Lettuce wraps, kimchi and plenty of Korean side dishes * Mushrooms, vegetables and hotpot ingredients * Fried chicken, nuggets, fries, sausages and other fried snacks * Fried rice and seaweed soup * Watermelon and ice cream for dessert * A generous selection of soft drinks beverages The ice cream isn’t premium quality—it’s more the syrup-based icy type—but considering the price, it’s perfectly acceptable. The staff were friendly and efficient despite the crowd. They may not provide five-star hospitality, but they were polite and kept things moving smoothly. The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because the cleanliness and ventilation could be improved. Like most Korean BBQ places, you’ll leave smelling like BBQ from head to toe, but the ventilation here could definitely do a better job. Wear clothes you’re prepared to wash afterwards! Overall, if you’re after an affordable, fuss-free Korean BBQ buffet with plenty of food choices, this place is excellent value for money. Bring your family or a group of friends, come with realistic expectations, and you’ll probably leave full and happy.
