Chai Ho Satay

Easy to find at the hawker center walking distance from Clementi mrt. The shop is around opposite of the POSB / DBS bank. We were there on early dinner time around 6+pm on Sunday. There was already a Q formed but it moves quite fast as the satay is constantly being BBQed and the aunty just serves and people take & go immediately. We’ve eaten here since decades ago and the prices have gone up, some shrinkflation with the meat size, understandable situation due to changing economy and global issues but the taste is still good. They’ve only 2 meat choices - chicken & pork. Both were also juicy and flavorful. Both cost $0.65 each. Not too expensive considering the current market conditions. It’s a hawker center so don’t expect nice clean environment. Good enough for a busy hawker center. Very crowded during meal times.

My usual jam when I crave for satay. Almost always attract queue and one of the most popular stalls in the market, but worth a wait. It offers chicken and pork satays that comes with tasty thick peanut sauce. Note that similar to satay stalls here in Singapore, 10 sticks are the minimum purchase quantity. The price is quite fair for its quality - $0.6 for both types of satay. Almost forgot, the "rice" item in the menu is actually isn't white rice but rice cakes (ketupat) as the staple to accompany the satay.

Used to be my fav satay stall but may not be anymore. Went today and to my surprise no queue! Placed my order and saw no one bbq-ing the satay. But there was a huge pile of cooked satays on a big tray. On the spot I took few to eat,the chicken satays were cold already . Pork satays were still warm . Given the rise in price to 75cents, I’m extremely disappointed that the meat also shrunk in size… doesn’t make sense to me. Not sure if I will go back again…

Their pork satay is just SO good! Always sold out fast so better be early. Chicken also not too bad. Both section very perfectly grilled, not too jelak even having too much. Not too oily and perfectly marinated. Besides this, bak kwa is one of the best in town, My all time favorite bak kwa! My pov they are good at their grilling skill. Price are on cheaper range too. Really worth to buy them. Of course, Q is always long but off peak or right timing will be fine.

The satay is not bad. Freshly grilled and affordable too. At 60 cents per stick, but ofcourse has lesser meat compared to other vendors which costs more, that's why I ordered 7 sticks each of pork and chicken to satisfy my cravings. They are generous with peanut sauce. The ketupat (rice pudding) would be better if warm and softer. Short queue because I was there before 5pm. Overall I would recommend this stall specially for those who prefer pork satay. One of the better satay stalls.

Dried Pork （肉干）is great.. thinly sliced and savoury and fresh. Worth a try. Satay, is just normal.. nothing to wow about. But its 60cents a piece (or 50cents a piece for raw ones). And only Pork. Do note usually only open in the afternoon and onwards and closed on Mon and Tues. Basically their operating hours are quite irregular, so b aware. Snaking Q during festive seasons. And customer service tends to go down during festive seaaon too... Else worth a try.

Say hello to these succulent, charred satay sticks — complete with those glorious little bits of sweet fat tucked in between the meat, from one of Clementi Central’s most beloved stalls. Couldn’t help but take a little trip down memory lane today — back to those weekends when my folks would bring us to the old Satay Club at the Esplanade. Nothing hits quite like nostalgic comfort food like these.

Queue during dinner time is inevitable - but moves along fast. Got 10 sticks of chicken and 2 sticks of pork at $0.65 each and I must say its really one of the more wallet friendly prices (with each stick of satay costing $0.80 at most places these days) I wish they also provide onions though. Satay gravy is so good with chunks of peanut in it and uncle is so nice to let me get a refill if gravy is insufficient. Highly recommend :)
