Landed at Changi, dropped my bags, and headed straight to Newton Food Centre on my first night in Singapore. It is a short walk from Newton MRT and was still buzzing at 9.30pm with locals, families, and brilliant hawker energy. I went straight to Stall 76, R&B Express, grabbed an ice cold beer from Beer 77, and within five minutes the wings and satay arrived together, fresh from the grill. Sticky, lacquered chicken wings with sweet char and a punchy sambal chilli sauce. Beautifully charred chicken and lamb satay with rich peanut sauce and crisp cucumber and onion to cut through it. Quick service, fantastic food, and the perfect introduction to Singapore’s obsession with eating. Bring cash if you are visiting as they were taking DBS Digibank when I went.

Michelin guide restaurant most notable for their chicken wings. They serve chicken wings with a tangy and lime sauce, chicken / beef / lamb satay skewers with peanut sauce, and popiah. I would only come back to share a beer and eat with friends. To be honest, nothing stood out to me. The satay skewers were good but the meat could be seasoned a little better – the peanut sauce carried the flavor making the meat sweet and peanuty. The chicken wings alone tasted like regular rotisserie chicken seasoned only with salt – the lime spicy sauce provided adds the flavor kick to the chicken.

Their chicken wing is awesome! The taste is nice full of bbq smell and the meat is soft and flavourful. The satay meat for chicken and pork, both is delicious too. Meat portion is just nice and the texture is soft. Will support this stall again

Wings are $1.80 a piece, and the wings are smaller size than regular BBQ wings. Supposed it is Michelin hence 10 cents more than the standard prices around. It’s well marinated and moist. The queue is long, good thing it moves. If you order less, there’s no lime provided. Not that lime costs much, could just be generous. The satay is $1 a stick. The pork ones have some fats, which is good. The sauce is way too sweet. Do without.

Michelin 2024 & 2025 winner. Sells Satay and grilled chicken wings. Newton Hawker Centre location (self-service outlet). Store ran by a man & a woman. The satay is slightly dried and smaller. Wee too sweet for me. The chicken wings were too charred at some places. The order (thingy) broke and did not buzz. I think other stalls could be better (food and experience).

Delicious satay sticks and chicken wings from R&B Express in Newton Food Centre. The mix plate of satay sticks was well marinated with the char flavour from the coals. BBQ Chicken wings was also beautifully seasoned. A generous serving of peanut sauce and chilli sauce was also included. It’s no wonder this place has a Michelin Bib Gourmand.

Ordered the Chicken wing and the satay sticks (5 chicken and 5 beef). I found this to be pricier compared to other stalls in the centre - wings were $1.8 each and sticks were $1 each, however both the wings and satay sticks were really tasty. Recommend as a side dish to the other amazing stalls here.
