Kwee Heng 贵兴

The dry duck noodles here features noodles tossed in a signature dark sauce that is savory, slightly herbal, and has that deep, soulful umami that only comes from a recipe passed down through generations. Good: we loved the noodle/sauce, lard flavored, strong bold and saucey. The soup came in a dark herbal tint and was great too. Bad: @$9, duck meat were chopped into bits and pitifully little. Intestines also had a funky smell. Lastly, eating with Styrofoam plates is just plain annoying.

I understand that the cost of living is high, but I cannot accept it when hawkers or food sellers overcharge while serving so little in return. This bowl of duck congee cost me $5, yet the portion of meat was barely one tablespoon — which is really unacceptable. For that price, customers deserve at least a fair serving. This will be my first and last visit to Kwee Heng at Newton Food Centre.

Duck was cold, noodle sauce was just salty soy/teryaki, way too salty. Service guy really nervous and shouting to customers like bulldog. If this kind of place has Michelini Bib Gourmand sign, then I should get real stars for myself back home😀 This place is a joke, huge disappointment

the soup is very nice herbal based not the usual. Taste almost like bakuteh. The rice also fragrant chicken oil rice, not plane white rice. There is no queue when here on Monday evening for dinner . $5 for a plate.

This is the best duck noodles in Singapore. Patronised for 30 over years. Price reasonable and good service!

Braised duck definitely above average among hawker/food centre. It’s sauce yums. 9/10 recommending to friends and family
