I’ve dined at this restaurant many times, and I’ve even brought friends over and recommended the place to others. But I’m really upset with the service attitude of some staff on weekdays. No customer should have to put up with rude behaviour while having a meal. Two members of staff stood out negatively: one Chinese female employee, plus another taller, heavier-set staff member whom I believe is Thai. Both came across quite unfriendly. Besides service issues, there are clear hygiene problems. The hot pot pots have chipped coating and weren’t cleaned thoroughly. When I went to get chilli condiment, I opened the lid and found the sauce had gone sour and discoloured. I asked the Chinese female staff to replace it since it was spoiled, and she seemed annoyed even though she swapped it out eventually. I then checked the lard supply, which also carried an off odour. When I asked another staff member for fresh lard, they claimed it was supposed to taste like that and told me to use butter instead if I didn’t want the lard, all in a displeased tone. I didn’t take photos of the spoiled chilli or the peeling hot pot at the time, as I hadn’t planned to file a complaint back then. Even the replacement pot they gave me was still not properly cleaned, and the tabletop felt sticky and grimy all over. I’m confused how the establishment allows such compromised condiments to be served. If patrons end up with stomach trouble from eating spoiled ingredients, that can’t be the outcome the shop wants. It feels almost like the team doesn’t care whether customers keep coming back. As a regular who’s consistently supported this spot, I’m deeply disappointed and frustrated with my experience today.
