Charcoal Mookata 1018 Sembawang - The Addiction Bistro

I was recently introduced to this place for mookata, and somehow, after just a few visits, my family and I have already become regulars. What first stood out was their charcoal mookata, which gives the food that extra smoky flavour. More importantly, the ingredients are always clean and fresh. But what keeps us coming back is that they offer so much more than just mookata — they also serve authentic à la carte Thai dishes, Thai-style spaghetti and even rosti, so there’s always something different to enjoy. What truly makes this place special, though, is the people. King and her colleagues are genuinely warm, friendly and attentive. When the staff can remember you after seeing you just two or three times, you can tell they actually put their heart into looking after their customers. Even when the place gets extremely busy, especially on weekends, they remain patient, welcoming and do their best to make sure everyone is taken care of. Over time, it has become more than simply a place for us to have dinner. King and the team have created many lovely memories and consistently good experiences for me and my family whenever we visit, and that personal touch is something we really appreciate. For the quality of the food, variety, portions and service, it is genuinely worth every penny. If you stay around the area and haven't tried them yet, I definitely recommend dropping by at least once before they relocate to Bishan from 28 September 2026 onwards. Cycled from Yishun and first time eating here. Nice place serving those staying nearby at Canberra or Sembawang and a stop for those visiting Sembawang Park. They served Mookata or ala-carte Thai dishes and also Rosti. Tried their sausage rosti add on scramble eggs. Pretty decent. Do take note the last day of operation at 1018 Sembawang will be 27th Sept. They will reopen at 1 Clover Way from 2nd Oct.

Visited Charcoal Mookata @ The Addiction Bistro with a group of 20 and were the first customers of the day. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and handled our large group well, making sure everything was prepared smoothly. The charcoal fire gave the food that authentic mookata flavour, and the meats were fresh and tasty. It does get warm, so be prepared to sweat a little—but that’s all part of the traditional charcoal mookata experience! Overall, a great place for gatherings with family and friends. I’d happily recommend it and would visit again. Very good value for money.

🍃The environment is clean and refreshing, with neat tables, chairs, and tableware. It's quiet, but there's no air conditioning, so those who are sensitive to heat can bring their own small fan. We went in the afternoon and it felt okay. 🚇Take the red line to Sembawang MRT station, then transfer to bus 882 and get off.It's about a 5-6 minute walk from there (towards Sembawang Park). It's more convenient for those driving, as there's a park right next door, and you can take a walk on the beach after your meal. There's a wide variety of food to choose from. Besides Mookada, there are Western, Thai, BBQ, desserts, and drinks. The atmosphere is also perfect for a relaxing drink. We ordered the $39.99 set meal for two, plus two drinks, which came to $25 per person. The price is reasonable, and the portions are generous. Recommend going in the evening so you can catch the sunset at Sembawang Park after your meal.☺️ ❗️ Pets allowed❗️

The meat smelled bad, and the food wasn't as complete as advertised. When I went to get my order, the staff told me I could take certain things and not others. It was a terrible experience. I even saw flies on the meat, and a mosquito too! OMG!
