Cafe Mary Grace, Singapore

Service from the start was okay, but the lady who took my order initially assumed it was for 2 pax when I said I was dining solo. I guess solo dining isn’t as common in SG yet 😂 I ordered the Angus Beef Tapa. The sirloin strips were overly sweet for my liking and extremely tough and chewy. I would have enjoyed it much more if the beef was softer and more tender. I’m not sure if they allow you to choose the doneness because I wasn’t asked, but I would have definitely preferred it medium rare. The egg that came with my tapa was supposed to be scrambled, but it arrived sunny side up. What made it even funnier was that the next table ordered the exact same dish and asked for sunny side up, but theirs arrived scrambled. 😂 I’m not sure if the different servers were mixing up the difference between scrambled and sunny side up. The other customer even asked about it, and the server insisted that it was scrambled, to the point where she started doubting herself. Poor her. 😂 I was also given a sample of their hot chocolate drink. It was actually quite nice, not overly sweet and with a slight bitterness that I really liked. The vibe and decor are definitely the highlight. The café is quaint, charming and has a very cute aesthetic. I can definitely see this being a hit with the ladies or anyone looking for a nice place to bring a date. It’s a great spot for that. I also ordered the Ube Cloud Cake, but it came out extremely chilled and hard, almost like it was still partially frozen. It would have been nice if the staff had mentioned that it should sit for a while before eating. I left it alone for about 10 minutes after my mains arrived, and it was much more enjoyable once it softened. Taste-wise, though, it was just average. Nothing particularly mind-blowing or memorable, and I didn’t really taste much of the yam/ube flavour. The lengua croustillant base was also completely detached from the rest of the dessert and was super stiff from being frozen. It was so difficult to cut or break apart that I eventually gave up trying to incorporate it with the rest of the cake and just ate around it. Overall, this is a very cute café with a charming atmosphere and definitely a nice place to bring a date. Just don’t go in expecting amazing food, and double-check that your order is actually what you asked for. 😂 Cute café, great date vibes, but the food and order accuracy could use some work.

Today, we ordered, talked, laughed, ate, and just enjoyed the moment. Especially made even more memorable by Aira and Chinnie, and also Deva during our first visit. Actually all the staff made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. But somewhere between the food and the little moments, we realized something: We weren’t just coming back for the food anymore. We were coming back for the experience. For how the place makes us feel. And after today, our hearts quietly decided… we’ll keep coming back. ❤️ Mary Grace, you might have just gained regulars. 🇵🇭🫶

Napakasarap!!! 💗 We celebrated my auntie’s birthday here at Mary Grace, and we had such a lovely time! 💗 The food was really delicious, and the service was great as well. Everyone was so accommodating and friendly, which made our celebration even more special. 🥰 Lastly, the staff member who took our orders was so nice and even offered to take our photos for us! All the photos turned out fantastic too! I might have to add this to my technique for taking good photos. 😅📸 Everything we ordered was enjoyable, and next time, I’ll definitely try the cassava! 😋✨

I loved everything about this homely cafe! From the super warm and friendly staff, to the amazing bakes and drinks. We were there for desserts, and we loved the chocolate & Ube cloud cakes that we ordered. However, do note that the cakes are on the sweet side, and it’s best for sharing. We were lucky the signature salted egg ensaymada was still available, and it felt like a cake version of a 菠萝包. My friend ordered the ube cloud matcha and it was well balanced. They also sold this amazing butter cookie at the cashier that we adored. We will be back for sure to try their mains in future!

Visited Cafe Mary Grace for the first time! While a few items didn't quite hit the mark for us, there are definitely some highlights worth checking out. What We Loved: Signature Pastries (10/10): Absolutely stellar! They are so soft and flavorful on their own that you don't even need to dip them into anything. If you're a first-timer, you should 100% pop by just to try these. Service: The staff was super passionate! Seems like they really love what they are doing! Good to Know Before You Order: Drinks (5/10): We ordered the Signature Hot Chocolate and Frozen Hot Chocolate. Both were very sweet and have a very prominent spice/cinnamon flavor profile. If you're expecting a traditional, classic hot chocolate or aren't a big fan of spices in your drinks, you might want to explore other options! Toasted Longganisa Rice Bowl (5/10): The flavors were underwhelming for us, and the portion size was on the smaller side relative to the price point. You might want to skip this and save space for more of their delicious bakes instead! Atmosphere: The cafe has a cozy vibe, though tables are set quite close together. It might feel a bit tight for intimate chit-chats, but it's still nice for a quick catch-up. Total cost for two came to around $70 which is pretty steep so it's more of a one-time visit.

As a Cebuana, I was incredibly excited when I found out that Mary Grace, a beloved Filipino restaurant chain known throughout Luzon, had opened in Singapore. I was looking forward to enjoying their familiar Filipino dishes, ensaymada, and desserts, and I’m happy to say that the experience did not disappoint! One pleasant surprise was the pricing. I honestly expected the menu to be quite expensive, considering the Singapore location, but I found the prices to be very reasonable. The service was also excellent, especially from our server, Chini. She was very accommodating, quick to attend to our needs, and even happily offered to take photos of us. Her warm and attentive service made our visit even more enjoyable and memorable. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Mary Grace Singapore, and I’m so happy to have a taste of this Filipino favorite closer to home. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

We were there to celebrate our friend’s birthday and the experience never disappoint. A warm welcome, homely atmosphere, great food and drinks captured our hearts. Hit: Cassava Chips with Onion Dip - 9/10 Kaya Pandan Cheese Roll - 10/10 Salted Egg Ensaymada - 10/10 Angus Beef Tapa - 9/10 We will definitely be back again. Mary Grace Café was a lovely stop for some classic Filipino pastries and desserts. I ordered their original ensaymada, salted egg ensaymada, latte, salted almond sans rival and toasted almond sans rival. My absolute favourite was the original ensaymada. It was soft, fluffy and buttery, with that irresistible sweet, rich finish that makes ensaymada such a comforting treat. Sometimes the simplest version is the best, and I definitely preferred the original over the flavoured variation. The salted almond sans rival was another standout for me. I really enjoyed the combination of creamy layers, crunchy almonds and that lovely sweet-and-salty balance. It was rich but incredibly satisfying, and definitely something I would order again. The salted egg ensaymada was an interesting twist, adding a savoury, slightly salty dimension to the classic pastry. The toasted almond sans rival was also enjoyable, especially for those who love a nutty dessert. Overall, I really enjoyed exploring the pastry selection at Mary Grace Café. There’s something wonderfully nostalgic and comforting about their bakes. If I had to pick just two favourites, though, it would definitely be the original ensaymada and salted almond sans rival — both are delicious and worth coming back for!
