Came back a second time for their coffee! It was close to closing time so there’s no queue. Really loved the Ma Lai Gao latte, had to get it another time tho prices were kinda steep for a cup. $19.50 for 2 cups😱 Both times the service was pretty fast despite the queue. The same guy explaining the drink to u was even faster I couldn’t catch what’s he saying. Seems like he’s just vomiting everything from a script. At least I could read the information on the cute cards haha. Would come back again to try their ice cream! Good that they have new menus every season for ppl to look forward to, otherwise I don’t even think most will return for the expensive cup of drink that u can finish in 1min Ma Lai Gao is creamy and delicious, you can still taste the coffee. I ordered Coffee cola just for the joy to look at. Bubbles smell good too when they pop. Tasted unique and fizzy, it’s a new and fun flavour to try but wouldn’t get it a second time.

big short coffee is not your usual cafe or coffee shop. The menu features seasonal drinks changing every few months. While the usual latte and black coffee remain available, I highly recommend you try out their seasonal items. One of my favourites would definitely be the "ma lai gao fairy bread" of the spring 2026 season. The sweetness of the ma lai bao butter caramel and red date fresh milk paired with the bitterness of the freddo espresso, topped off with the slight crunch of hundreds and thousands (sprinkles) creates a balanced drink. Do note that currently there are no seats inside when I visited recently. However, there used to be some bench seatings but would not be suited for long visits and chats as it gets busy at times. The overall experience of the cafe is unique as some of the drinks are completed in front of you and with a special menu. It is also great for insta stories and posts. Highly recommend checking out from time to time to see what is their new menu items.

Great coffee with interesting and creative flavours and concoctions. I also appreciate that they take the time to briefly explain how the drinks are made and share the inspiration behind them. The only downsides are: first, the queue and waiting time can be quite long, so it’s something to keep in mind if you’re in a rush. Second, there are no seats available, so it’s either takeaway or standing at the bar. It can also get quite crowded, especially with people waiting for their drinks.

There was a queue when I arrived, but the wait was reasonable and well-managed. The café adopts an interesting concept of curating its coffee menu around the four seasons, a creative angle that stands out in Singapore’s otherwise saturated coffee scene. While I was tempted by some of the more inventive options, I chose to start with a latte as a benchmark. In my view, the ability to execute a simple item well reflects a strong foundation. The latte was above average, with distinctive flavour notes and a smooth, well-balanced body. A promising start, and I would be keen to return to try some of their seasonal creations.

I’ve been seeing this all over social media, so I finally came down to try it for myself! Honestly, the prices are on the higher side, and some of the coffee combinations sound a little unusual—but it’s absolutely worth trying, both for the experience and for the gram (and yes, even the calories 😄). I had the coffee cola, and it was super refreshing—definitely not something you come across every day. I also took some time to read through their blogs to better understand their concept and what goes into each drink, and it made the whole experience even more interesting. I’m a fan now!! Can’t wait to come back and try more flavours. Kudos to the team for being so creative and bold with your combinations! 💯

Absolute must try when you’re in Singapore. Unreal coffee and an amazing balance of flavours. The experience was amazing as well, it’s like a gastronomy!

I went on a Friday afternoon. There was a long queue, but moving. I got my order in about 10 minutes. Their menu is seasonal so expect to see their offers come and go and it’s more of a cocktail inspired coffee based drink shop. I ordered their coffee cola which is a show in of itself because they add the bubbles right in front of you. It’s a refreshing drink with a kick of cold brew. I loved it! The crew are helpful in explaining their drink options and can suggest if you can’t choose. The shop is small so there’s limited seating, but it should be fine since this is more of an order and go type of experience. Better to enjoy your coffee while you explore Joo Chiat.

I tried the Orange Mont Blanc, which had a clean, layered taste complemented by a subtle peppered note atop sundried oranges. The Coffee Cola was lively, with the bubble gun. The space is compact, with only benches—no tables—so it fills quickly. Afternoons are particularly busy.
