A-Poh Kitchen

Came with friends for dinner on 17 June 2025. There is online ordering available, but I suspect they don't really use it, and it's probably better to order in person. This stall is also halal-certified. We ordered a medium-size Seafood Hor Fun ($12), The hor fun (1st photo, middle) was your typical hor fun, the noodles cooked to perfection and the sauce accompanying it was amazing. We also ordered the small Sambal Kang Kong ($9, not pictured), which was deliciously spicy, giving you a kick in the tastebuds. The small Hong Kong Chye Sim with Oyster ($10, first plate from left) is better if you can't exactly tolerate spicy food, it's pretty nice (can't complain, its literally what it says). The small Hotplate Beancurd ($12, top left) is also nice, not spicy and hits the spot. The Fiery Chicken Cubes ($8, top right) was a bit of a letdown though, there was noticably more chilli than chicken. However, the small plate of Oats Prawns ($16, second image) would be one I would come back for. The cereal (but its really fried oats) was delicious, and combined with the prawns its just sedap. The staff were really friendly and approachable. Will return again.

Had a company team lunch here on a Monday. Place was quite empty when we arrived. Food was good, service was not bad either. The staff asked us if we wanted to order drinks, and again for a second round. Also offered to clear stuff when they were done. Food was served very fast, dish after dish, even though we hadn't finished the earlier ones (in some cases didn't even start yet). Ambience was decent too, it's indoors with aircon. Place isn't very big, less than 10 tables.

Standard drop so much. Food taste average. Curry fish head was not bad last time, but now, standard so-so only. Sharks fin soup very salty. Salted egg chicken has smelly oil taste and no salted egg taste at all. Oatmeal sotong (squid) also so-so, not flavourful at all. White rice is very small bowl portion on the plate. Staff also has difficulty understanding our ordering. Seems like only know chinese. For a halal eating place which serves many malays, this is indeed very surprising.

yummy yummy! will come back to try their other dishes! we tried their chongqing grilled fish, sambal kangkong, chye sim, black pepper beef, oats sotong, century egg. chongqing grilled fish was more 麻 than 辣, not sure if that was bc we asked for low spice level i wna try the 辣子鸡 nxt time 😌

We usually order their signature curry fish head when we come here but standard has been dropping, this time it is quite disappointing that I have to write a review. Curry is diluted, fish is small, so few vegetables. It pales in comparison to the same curry fish head I had last year. Standard is dropping. It used to be good. Lime juice is too sweet.

Food was average. Best thing here is the air con. The fish was fresh and the hotplate toufu was quite special. This place is halal btw.

The tomato egg was very oily and really don't taste like the Chinese style as per they advertised in the menu. Curry fish head was ok.

This is what their Hokkien Mee looks like. It is not KL Hokkien Mee or Singapore Hokkien Mee. If you're looking for a dry noodle, just go for their Mi Goreng (non-spicy) to avoid this disappointment.
