The fried rice was actually quite good, flavourful and well-cooked, definitely something I would have enjoyed on its own. However, the yam paste was very disappointing and concerning. At first, I noticed a few ants and informed the staff, but I was told that maybe they had just crawled in. Unfortunately, when I scooped further into the dish, I found even more ants inside, which clearly showed that it wasn’t just a small surface issue. Food hygiene is extremely important, and this experience was quite off-putting. I hope the shop takes this seriously and improves their food handling and cleanliness standards.

The prawn paste chicken tasted good but the fish head steamboat tasted rather odd. The fish head is chopped in very small slices and does not taste fresh, not sure cause is after 8pm or the fish are not being defrost properly, or left outside for too long. Quite disappointed despite being a charcoal hotpot. Way too much yam in it and the taste is not savory sweet from the fish but rather sweet blanch from don't know what. Will still come back though and try other dishes but just now the fish head steamboat. At S$35, I can 1 or 2 more other dishes plus a small salty veg tofu soup, more like a weird yam soup. The after taste still lingers and not a good feeling. Nice atmosphere though, kampong vibe and liking the aluminum roof.

Located inside private housing estate area. The Atmosphere can be better... plenty of Flies which is quite irritating. This is a non-aircon place. Seats can be quite limited during meal hours. Carpark is free, however difficult to find a space during meal hours. Washroom available on site. Service is warm and friendly. Food wise, certain dishes is tasty but Not all, certain dishes are just indeed not tasty at all, and i find some dishes quite salty to my liking. Overall just an average dinning place... nothing wow about it. Diners can call in advance to order and later collect.

Here’s a polished version of your restaurant review, keeping your original intent and tone: --- Happy Village at Malu Malu – A Hidden Gem! Happy Village is truly a hidden gem in the area. They serve delicious, well-prepared meals at an unbeatable price. Every dish is full of flavor and feels like it’s made with care. The photos I posted are just a few of the dishes you must try each one worth coming back for. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food without breaking the bank! Oh yes... the homemade Yam paste is a must try.

Laid back, JB feel and certain tucked away at a quiet corner of Singapore. This zhi char served great food, tasty and very local and the price is not exorbitant. In fact reasonable. The only gripe is that the menu is quite fixed and run of the mill but if you visit once in a while, there is no problem with this menu. The fish head steam boat is nice and it goes well with the crab meat with Kai lan fried rice. Drop by the Tagore lane outlet - recommended.

You’ve got to come to try all the dishes here!! It’s so kampung and heart-warming! The quality, price and quantity for all dishes are really out of the world. Kudos to the chef and Ah Jack for making our dinner an experience to remember!! Will come back again! Highly recommended!! Come early as dishes are high in demand.

Rude entitled staffs throwing tantrums like little children when asked if there have ices with bucket (we order beers supposed provided but not). After that the lady deliberately don't come to pour the beer. We heard she talking to other staffs about our table the laughing. Such people are not fit to work in the service industry!

Terrible experience on my first visit. I ordered a seafood bee hoon without fish, but when I opened the packet, it was nothing but fish and completely wrong. What a waste of money and time. I was so disgusted I had to throw it away. Totally unacceptable and very disappointing
