Eat Here, Drink Here Cafe & Bistro Punggol

Husband & I decided to support local & came to this bistro. We came around 6.30pm on a Friday & we were the only customers for a good 1 hour. However, a few points that lack of upkeep in the store which I find not very hygienic. 1. Cutlery served but not very clean. Even the staff saw & quickly took away from me. 2. We were given a sauce plate & were told that we could enjoy with the sauces on the table. I reached out for the chilli sauce, gave it a good shake & the moment I open the cap, a long insect flew right out from the bottle. I was shock & jumped out of my seat & immediately told the staff.. it seems like a roach. (It turn out it wasn’t but a long slim body insect that I thought it looked like a roach. 3. On my husband’s 2nd pint of stout, there was some “flakes” floating on top of the foam. Staff came over with a spoon, scope it out & keep explaining that the “flakes” were from the bottle that they pour out from with the micro machine or something. My husband touch the “flakes” & told me is slimy & sticky. I have been in the F&B before & I realized that it could be the algae from the machine that could have not been well cleaned thus such indecent happen. The food wise, is more on the homecook style kind. For the quality & price, I don’t think I will patronize again. Staff’s attitude is good & polite but definitely room for improvement.

The mee huen kuey here is a big no… so disappointing. Me and my friends ordered 4 bowls of MHK. All of us wants to add an egg but they didnt add it in. The soup was so bland and the kueh itself even though it was chewy, it tasted slightly sour. I ordered the prawn one and the prawn tasted fishy as well. Didnt even finish it. We waited for a good 20-30mins for the food too. Not sure why some MHK in the reviews looks different but ours is as unappetising as it looks in my photos. 💀💀 Wont come back again.

Better than expected food cannot help the absolutely terrible service. Walked in, not a single hello. I asked for a menu, the guy just gestured to a stack of menus on the table away from me. When ordering, I asked for mee hoon kueh with egg, guy hears it and just WALKS AWAY. Then when food comes, they just place the food on my table without cutlery. Waited awhile for it but it never came, had to walk over to ask for it. After paying, guy walks away without a word. (Both crew there are the same. They’re mute, I heard them talk to each other.) Mee hoon kueh was not bad. Kueh was good but the meat and veg really too little to warrant nearly $10 la. Prawn was frozen. Minced meat was barely there, just a few bits floating (see the photo?) that’s it. And they forgot my egg. Atmosphere? Completely dead. Everyone just felt so sian, no music or anything

Ordered the recommended dishes with secret recipe; mee hoon kueh, fish maw soup, fried chicken wings and curry chicken. Mee hoon kueh soup is too bland, fish maw soup has a weird taste + not thick soup, curry chicken gravy is too watery and these taste standard are worst off than hawker or foodcourt food. Chicken wings is normal. I came to try because I saw from Instagram marketing videos and I cannot believe what I have eaten. From the pics already can tell the food standard and you can tell that the food is too watery. Come try the food yourselves :)

This bowl of rice cake was a delightful surprise! The broth was sweet and flavorful without being greasy, the rice cake was chewy and smooth, and the mushrooms, shrimp, minced meat, and vegetables were perfectly balanced. Most importantly, it tasted like my mom's homemade cooking, making me feel warm and at home. I'll definitely come back for more! ...The ambiance here is also very comfortable...and the other food is delicious too! 👍😋

Just visited their restaurant yesterday with my family as this is my family's go-to restaurant every weekends. The experience is good as usual. I love their Mee Hoon Kueh a lot, it gives me a homecook food vibe. We usually order grilled squids and avocado tartare. Very tasty too. Overall it's always a good experience whenever we dine here. No offence but I don't know why some people give 1 star, personally I think the food are really nice and my family members love it too.

4 of us Visited this place as alot pple commented that the food is delicious.. well, such a disappointment .. mee hoon kuey wasn't that fantastic.. the fish n chip.. worst.. felt abit overpriced.. with such a small piece of fish... n ask for tartar sauce... was told they dunnhave... ( im sorry, even coffeeshop western stall have tartar with every fish n chip ordered).. ice lemon tea.. tasteless, americano so diluted.. won't even want to visit again.. n the service by tis guy... is seriously no service.. we walked in the cafe.. he just stand at the counter stared at us .. at this time (7pm) no table at all.. we were all wondering who is Jackson that was mentioned in most of the reviews.. I dun find the service here as mentioned.. overall... disappointed 😞

The food is good but serving abit slow especially during the peak hours. Might not worth to wait for so long. The staff are friendly.
