my boyfriend and i dropped by the book cafe for a light dinner as we were in the area (it’s around a 13 minute walk from great world mrt). upon entering, we were greeted by the friendly staff and were allowed to choose any seat we wanted! there was a range of seating types from comfy couches 🛋️ to higher chairs :) there were also shelves of books and magazines for customers to browse through; this was paired with the high ceilings and warm lighting, which made for an extremely cosy environment! food-wise, the truffle fries had a surprising and agreeable crispiness, but this was dimmed by the truffle scent and taste that was not really present. the aglio olio, however, was well-seasoned and rich, without being overwhelmingly oily or spicy, 🍝 so that was a highlight ^^ the tiramisu latte was advertised on their chalkboard so we gave it a shot, and we found it really decadent yet well-balanced. the ladyfinger was a fun addition (do take note that overall, the flavour of the drink is rather alcohol-forward) service was a little slow as there were only two staff working at the front, but we could see they were definitely trying their best! 🙇🏻♀️ this is all to say we had a wonderful experience, and i’d definitely return here someday to study or grab a meal, and make sure to make the most of my time by snagging a book to read too~

Finding a spot that nails both the brew and the bake is rare, but this place strikes absolute gold. The ambiance strikes that perfect balance—effortlessly serene yet buzzing with understated creative energy. The undisputed highlights of the visit: The Burnt Cheesecake: An elite slice of Basque artistry. It boasts a deeply caramelized, bittersweet exterior that gives way to a ridiculously velvety, melt-in-your-mouth center. The Latte: A flawlessly poured espresso paired with silky, micro-foamed milk. It carries a smooth, rounded profile that elegantly cuts through the decadence of the cake. The hospitality is just as refined as the menu. For anyone who appreciates a meticulously executed pairing in a space that respects the craft, this is a mandatory stop. ☕✨

I patronise almost every week, but the cup is not full every time. At first, I thought the shopkeeper was worried that Grab would overflow during transportation, which is understandable. But almost every time the capacity of coffee is slightly more than half, and this time it is only less than 40% of the capacity! Why don't you drop a few drops of coffee liquid to complete the distribution? I don't like this kind of dishonest behaviour. For a cup of coffee, I only got half a cup of coffee!

Not just delicious food, but impeccable service too! Ruby and her colleague were incredibly warm and cheerful while helping us celebrate a birthday, which made the experience even more special. The cafe has a clean and cosy environment, and the many books around create such a relaxing atmosphere. Definitely a lovely place to enjoy good food and unwind!

A brilliant find. In Singapore for a conference and I needed good food (has a salmon soup which was delicious) and a lovely environment where I could read my novel and relax over dinner. Loved the place - books and magazines everywhere (including a book exchange), people having real conversations, others reading. This place is a treasure. Coffee was good too.
