Cafe food, cafe prices, food court services. Not the first visit here and food has always been decent, credit given where it’s due. The service, on the other hand, 1 star might be generous. Visited on 10 Sep 26, just after 9am. Entered the cafe, showed ourselves to our table. I don’t expect high-end restaurant service, but I think a “hi, welcome” should be the bare mininum right? (Please correct me if this is not how this cafe works). But yes, no greetings at all or even an acknowledgement. The first time a service crew came to our table was to serve me my cappucino. From where we were seated, we could see a dish that should belong to my wife. The chef rang the bell for the crew to serve. But benefit of doubt, the crew was busy serving drinks and probably missed the bell. The chef came out and told the crew to serve the dish on the pass, but the crew just ignored, proceeded to go to the side of the counter and was probably using his phone (just an assumption) but i will disregard that. My wife had to call out to the crew and asked if that was her meal, and rightly so it was. It was a good 5 minutes (or less) of that meal sitting on the pass. When served, no apology. Finished our meal, walked pass the main counter where the 2 service crew was at, no acknowledgement, not even a simple “thank you, see you again”. Literally nothing. The exact same experience you get when you dine in at a food court, the only difference is we can order and make payment through our phones and get our food served to the table. Just an honest feedback to a halal establishment that I hope they can improve on because I would really like to come again and have a better experience next time. **edited: Received a call from Calvin with an apology, which was greatly appreciated. Again, not to bring down businesses but I hope this review will assist to improve and maintain standards for Dutch Colony as we have been patronising this outlet for years and hope people will also continue to do so, as it’s not as easy to enjoy such good breakfast food that’s halal. 🤲🏽

Disapppointing brunch experience overall which is really sad cause it was not like that previously :( I ordered the avocado toast but the poached eggs were almost fully cooked as seen in the picture, the entire egg yolk was cooked lol. The description states guacamole but it tasted like packaged guacamole (in a tube) rather than something freshly made with real avocados, which was a real let-down. The cauliflower soup also started separating into two layers after awhile. The place seems understaffed, there were only 2 of them and one doubling up as cashiering (they were working really hard). I could see our food sitting at the counter for quite some time before it was served. Truffle fries was alright but was not hot by the time it was served :(

Generous portions and surprised that we cld create own brekky by choosing 3 or more items to form our plate. I had Scrambled Eggs, Toast (2 slices) and Mushrooms for $9. Another DIY set was the same with Salmon and Salad as well for $17. Staff ever so friendly and welcoming plus orders came quite quickly aft putting in our orders (4 of us). The drinks were the only items that were on the privy side with the Honeysuckle Hojicha at $7.80 was almost the cost of my DIY brekky. Shakes at $8.50 and my small Flat White with Soymilk was $6.90 (5.90 +$1). So definitely go for the great service and tasty & generous food ! Splurge on the drinks too if your budget agrees 😉

cosy location. easier to arrive by public transport than drive because parking is limited. good tasting food and arrived soon after order. clean washroom, well-spaced and a calm environment to have conversations. will def return.

Always been my go-to place for breakfast, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently good—everything from the rich, hearty dishes to the fresh pastries hits the mark. Coffee is smooth and well-balanced, just the way it should be. Service is excellent as always—friendly, attentive, and efficient even during busy periods. Definitely one of the best spots for a solid breakfast and coffee fix. Highly recommended.

I have always appreciated the cheerful and helpful Daniel of Dutch Colony , such a pleasant character. Makes the dining experience top notch. Although I do wish that Dutch Colony be more reliable with their menu servings , often they will not be able to serve the Granola Bowl due to shortages of ingredients. It can get disappointing , all said keep up the good work .

Leya is very helpful. She serve me the complimentary sky juice without i even asking for it. The food is great, has always been. I didn't order the coffee afraid that i might not able to finish the Hearty breakfast but my spouse did. He love the coffee, the aroma will stays whole day with us.
