popped by in the evening (5+pm) on a sunday. was posed a question if i was getting food or drinks. i answered maybe both. was told the kitchen was closed at 5pm. i clarified if i couldnt also get a slice of cake/pastries (these were still displayed). they mentioned nope, not for sale. okay, sure. all good. for a place that closes at 9pm (i had to double check), kitchen staff was clearing bags of trash in the middle of operations. first it was bags, and then moving of some mats. there was also crates of kitchen appliances in front of the cake display. the vibe of the place felt like everyone was ready to clock out and was not conducive for customers to stay long. i have not been to glasshouse for awhile now and am reminded why i havent. it is a pity.

We tried the egg benedicts and the ham they used were definitely made their egg benedicts stood up compared to other brunch places in SG. With this good experience, I'm back to order the Grazing Box. There were hiccups but the service recovery was amazing :) Even my kiddo could feel the sincerity of it :) Anyway the Grazing Box was a hit in our gathering ! People keep asking where we got it from. Seeing the cheese lovers enjoy it so much, some of the non-cheese eaters started to get curious and surprise surprise they said it's first time they actually enjoyed cheese platter. So yes, please make this grazing box permanent in your menu !

Mont Blanc coffee hunters here! We love this version and it was beautifully topped with a citrusy cream top, coffee was fragrant and paired nicely. We were pleasantly surprised by the banana crème brûlée which consisted of a warm buttery pan-seared banana bread, a scoop of ice cream, caramelised bananas. I was not expecting to like this dessert this much! What a great combination and excellent attention to detail on this dish. Quick and focused staff, everything was good. People beside us were a little distracting as the cafe space isn’t super big, but that’s a given with the size of shops in Chijmes. Customer turnover is relatively quick, but definitely come early if you’re grabbing a seat as it fills up quickly.

Food took 1 and a half hours to arrive since ordering. At the 40 minute mark we let the staff know something was up and even after this it took nearly another hour for the food to arrive, as 4 other tables who came in after us received their orders within half an hour. The front of house staff were very sweet and offered us our drinks on the house, but it seems the order flow or ticketing system needs some work. The food and drinks (especially the mont blanc) are genuinely great all things considered. But given this experience and still paying $50 even after removing our coffee from the bill, it was just not worth it

I’ve been to Glasshouse at Neil Road and the experience was good. This Glasshouse at CHIJMES, however, was extremely disappointing and frustrating. First of all, at 11am, they had ran out of Turkish eggs, which i suppose is fine, perhaps they’re really busy. Then when the sourdough Built Your Own Breakfast came, it was just the bread and scrambled eggs. To my surprise, jam was $3 and butter was $3 — if I’d order both, it would be $6 for condiments alone which is ridiculous. And they had ran out of glasses for water — I had asked twice and the water did not come. Finally when I’d asked again, the sweet waiter said they had ran out of glasses. The restaurant wasn’t full and to be out of glasses was yet another ludicrous matter, for a cafe that’s usually crowded. When my glass came, I was already done with the food and half an hour had lapsed. To be fair, their cheese toast was decent, and my friend enjoyed it. I also saw a couple of customers take their own water. All in all, the atmosphere was fine, pretty, but food was overpriced and sourdough that needed so much extra for condiments wasn’t worth it, to me. Other people might think it’s fine, but this place isn’t one I’d return to.

Left the place without anything because our queue got cut by a white couple and instead of rectifying the problem, the waiter ended up serving them first then ended up with us not having any seats left on the regular table except for the super low table that is near the window or outside which was extremely hot at that moment. I feel like the waiter should do something about it and not just serve people who cut the queue first. Will not visit this place again as the very first interaction is already very poor. You should train your staff to serve it in first come first serve basis especially when people are lining up properly and waiting to be seated, and not serving people who cut the queue first. If you serve people who cut the queue first, then what is the point of asking people to line up and wait to be seated, I could have just cut the line to the front and my turn will be served immediately. Very disappointing experience and will not recommend this place to anyone until they've trained their staffs properly. 😡

I had a truly refreshing experience at Glasshouse, Chijmes, and it was made all the more memorable thanks to Han, one of the staff members who served me. His genuine warmth, sincerity, and presence turned what could’ve been just another coffee run into something much more meaningful. It wasn’t just about the coffee—though I must say, the coffee was excellent—it was the human touch that stood out. Han greeted me with a kind smile and served with such authentic hospitality that it made me feel immediately welcomed and seen. In a city where service can sometimes feel transactional, this interaction reminded me of how a small act of kindness and attentiveness can truly elevate an experience. This was, without a doubt, the most welcomed I’ve felt at Glasshouse, and it set a new standard in my mind for what service in Singapore can and should look like—even in a casual setting like a café. Kudos to Han and the team. I’ll definitely be back, and I hope more people get to experience this level of service.

🟨 Glasshouse 30 Victoria Street, #01-03 CHIJMES, Singapore 187996 ⚫️ Visited on Friday 27th of June 2025 **************************************** 🟨 I visited The Glasshouse at CHIJMES and had a lovely experience. 🟨 The corner cafe has a stunning, minimalist interior – full of natural light streaming in thanks to its large glass panels. 🟨 The space feels open, calming, and beautifully designed, with a clean & modern aesthetic. _____________________________________ 🟦 Food = 🟦 I ordered an Iced Cafe Latte at SGD7 and a Ham & Cheese Croissant at SGD10 – both were delicious. 🟦 The iced milky coffee was smooth and well-crafted, while the Ham Croissant was fresh, flaky, warm, and delicious. _____________________________________ 🟢 Service was also a highlight – the staff, especially the cashier guy, were friendly, welcoming, and efficient. 🟢 Overall, I would say it's a pleasant cafe experience in a beautiful location. 🟢 Would recommend it to anyone visiting the City Hall MRT station area. _______________________________________ 🟤 In the afternoon, it was already pretty crowded and that tells me it is a highly popular cafe.
