Hey Slow Joe

Amazing quaint café with incredible food, coffee, and matcha! We ordered the spinach and mushroom quiche, pain au chocolat, matcha latte, iced hazelnut latte, and lemon tart — everything was so good that we ended up buying more for takeaway. They’re also collaborating with Captain Roti, so make sure to preorder because their items sell out fast. We got the scoopable cookie, six pain au chocolats (you can literally taste the rich chocolate melting away), kouign-amann, almond croissant, and their in-house breakfast, the Supreme Breakfast. It was so good that I even took another one home! Their coconut matcha is especially refreshing and delicious. Definitely give this café a try — they have some of the best baristas and bakers around!

Saw many good reviews and have been wanting to try out this place for awhile but it was a complete disappointment. A small cup of iced matcha latte that wasn’t even filled to the brim was $9.50. The matcha was thick but even then i don’t think the price paid justified the quantity. I understand the cost of good quality matcha is not cheap but if you’re charging consumers at this price i think the least is to at least fill up the entire cup instead of presenting it this way. For the record i didn’t even ask for less ice. I’m usually a slow drinker but i finished this in less than 5 minutes. Only positive was the service - staff was friendly.

Smooth, well-balanced, and velvety, it delivers a rich espresso profile softened by just the right amount of milk, making each sip both refined and deeply satisfying. It’s a small cup that leaves a big impression, showcasing the barista’s attention to detail and understanding of coffee. With thoughtfully prepared brews and a tranquil setting, Hey Slow Joe is a place where simplicity meets quality an ideal spot to slow down and savour a beautifully made piccolo (magic)

Chilled here with kids for an hour over some drinks and an apple chai cake. My hot café latte was pretty good - strong, creamy, but was just a tad sour. My wife loved her matcha latte as well. The cake was a hit with everyone as well. Total came up to $33.90. Service was good as well, staff were friendly and professional. The place is small and pet friendly. When we arrived slightly before 10am on a Sunday morning, there was only 1 other table occupied. Within half an hour, the place was packed. One bad thing is that there's no bathroom nearby, so empty your bladders before coming here!

Great matcha and delicious, warm banana bread. Matcha is of a high-quality and made with care. Had the banana pudding which was a little troublesome to drink so I'll probably get the strawberry / normal matcha next time. The pudding itself was delicious though. Highly recommend trying the banana bread - it's served warm and is just sweet enough without being too much; Tastes very comforting.

Hey Slow Joe may be a small space, but it feels intimate and welcoming thanks to the warmth of the staff. Their pastry display is packed with tempting options from tarts to brownies and banana bread, and I’m already planning to return to try more of their drinks and bakes. I had the Espresso Walnut Brownie ($7), which delivered exactly the kind of texture you’d want from a fudgy brownie. It’s rich and gooey in the centre, topped with caramel and toasted walnuts for a nutty crunch. The espresso deepens the chocolate flavour, and you can tell they use quality dark chocolate. It is on the sweeter and richer side, so it’s best shared. I also tried the Dirty ($5.50), and it was really good. Strong, creamy, and nutty with a full-bodied finish. Had the sudden thought to come to Hey Slow Joe and I’m glad I did :) Ordered their Supreme Breakfast and lemme tell you, it was sooooo goodddd.. For someone like me who had a fear of cherry tomatoes, wow dude their cherry tomatoes were really delicious and compliments well with the spinach & mushrooms. Scrambled eggs were well done too, the saltiness of the sausage & ham also neutralise well with the rest, overall it don’t feel too salty :) Also pretty new with this whole matcha crave, so I only got their matcha latte, which was superb too and I had to get another one as a takeaway 🤣 Will be back for more if I ever pass by again!

Love this cozy spot! Hey Slow Joe is my go-to when I just want to slow down and relax—especially since it’s right beside the crystal shop, which makes the whole vibe even more calming. Their cappuccino is always my go-to-smooth, comforting, and perfect for a chill break ☕️ Special shoutout to Bat, one of their staff, who’s always smiling and super welcoming. It really makes the experience feel warm and personal every time I visit. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful place to unwind
