Pontian Wanton Noodles (Rivervale Mall)

Kitty and I recently visited Pontian Wanton Noodles at Rivervale Mall for a casual meal. As we were quite hungry, we opted for a variety of dishes: the classic Wanton Noodles with black sauce, the Chicken Cutlet Noodles with a mix of chilli and black sauce, and a side of twelve fried wantons. The quality of the food was consistently good. The noodles possessed a delightful springy texture, and the black sauce provided a savoury depth without being overly salty. I particularly enjoyed the chicken cutlet, which was prepared perfectly, crispy on the exterior while remaining tender within. Furthermore, the fried wantons were pleasantly crisp and notably free from excess oil. In terms of value, the total bill came to $15.80, which we found to be very reasonable given the generous portions. The service was equally impressive; our orders were processed and served with great efficiency by the attentive staff. If I were to offer a minor suggestion, it would be for the chilli to have a slightly more robust fragrance or a sharper kick, however, this is a minor point in an otherwise lovely meal.

The chicken cutlet was crispy on the outside and tender inside – really good. The fried wantons were also crispy and not oily at all. Overall taste is solid and comforting. Price & Portion: Total bill was $15.80 for three items. Prices are reasonable and portion is just nice for a meal. Service: Order was taken and served pretty fast. Staff are efficient. Today 19.12.2025 11:57am i had a worst experience with lady assistance here. I ordered 3 bowl food and separate soup but i only want 1 big bowl soup so total 4 bowl because after buy food i need to buy so many other things to carry. But the lady cannot get my idea, she said shop 3 bowl 3 soup so total in the end i carried 6 bowl. That is the first. The second she began louder voice when i try to explain more, but unsuccessfully. I am a regular customer here, other time is better but today maybe rushy lunch time so i felt not well. Hope in the future they will improve the skill service to take care their consumers.

Ordered my lunch (takeaway) and added the dumpling soup. Wanton is so so but dumplings were good with crutching water chestnuts. The noodles and sauce did not match the Malaysian style. Sad n disappointed. Malaysia has so many good Wtm please. Singapore style cannot match our neighbouring country! One package was completely without chilli when delivered but there were no space in the apps to make such comments. Purely inconsistent workflow of the staff.

The chilli sauce needs to be improved. The wantons are so skinny, feels like mostly made up of just the wanton wrapper. Please improve.
