Fantastic lunch deals that are great for the palette and wallet. Their mushroom soup is a nice consistency, not too thick but full bodied with bites of mushroom. Each of the mains were very nicely done and the ice lemon tea is refreshing and satisfying. We were given complimentary lobster bites as appetisers, an unexpected surprise! One less star for service as we made online reservations but they definitely did not prepare a table for us. We were standing at the entrance for a while and no one saw us. Possibly busy with World Cup screening as there were quite a lot of people. The staff did make up for it when we are seated with service.

so first up.the food here was pretty tasty and no complaints there. the lower score though really was due to the service.. on arrival we were told that unless we had a reservation we could only sit at hitops yet plenty of empty normal tables (which by the time we left we're still empty). so it seems the vibe is to favor customers they don't have over paying customers. second, all ordering is done via an app/or code. I guess thats fine but meant there really wast any vibe or interaction. when we ordered our mains, we ordered both at the same time - yet the kitchen prepared one within 5 minutes and the burger came out a good 10minutes later by the time I had practically finished my food. if this was a cheap place I could understand that, but the prices here are reasonably high and so I would expect better orchestration of food presentation. we came here mainly because it had such a high rating on Google, but unfortunately feel somewhat let down by the service : this is not a 4.7+ star place. so for all these reasons I'll give 3 stars.

Had lunch at Hopscotch @ Capitol and enjoyed the experience overall. The food was good, with the lunch sets offering decent variety and value. We tried the Barramundi Fish & Chips, Duck Confit, Sticky Pork Ribs, Cereal Prawn Burger, and Cereal Chicken Bites. The Wild Forest Mushroom Soup was a nice starter, and the portions were satisfying Service was prompt and efficient, with dishes arriving in reasonable time. The restaurant also has a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere within the Capitol Kempinski arcade The main drawback is that the set meals feel like the default choice, with standalone options being less compelling from a value perspective

I knew Hopscotch would deliver a cultural experience, but somehow it still exceeded expectations. This is one of my favourite places to bring overseas friends because it showcases Singapore in a way that feels both familiar and surprising. That said, it’s just as much a delight for locals. There’s something deeply satisfying about seeing flavours and stories we grew up with reimagined with so much creativity and care. The drinks weren’t just drinks—they were experiences. Thoughtfully crafted, playful, and packed with local references that made each one feel like a conversation with Singapore itself. And please, do yourself a favour and order the warm savoury Bak Kut Teh-inspired drink. I was sceptical. Then I took a sip. Oh. My. God. The food was equally outstanding. Every dish felt comforting yet inventive, with local culture infused into every bite without ever feeling forced or gimmicky. What impressed me most was that the innovation is backed by genuine craftsmanship. It’s not creativity for creativity’s sake. There is real thought, skill, and love behind every plate and glass. The service deserves special mention too—warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate. The team clearly enjoys sharing the stories behind what they create, which makes the whole experience even richer. In a city full of places trying to be different, Hopscotch manages to be distinctive while remaining unmistakably Singaporean. That’s a rare achievement. Come hungry, come curious, and come prepared to leave with a renewed appreciation for just how creative local flavours can be.

Food is appalling, do not recommend, especially the so called bone marrow steak, one of the worst pieces of steak I have eaten. There is so much baking soda in the meat that the texture is like eating chicken, there is not even the slightest reminiscence of the taste of beef. The sear was poor as well also poorly seasoned. Disastrous. The nachos were fine and the fried chicken was 7/10. Avoid having meals here, the drinks are ok, had mocktails that tasted fine and for a decent price. Service is fine, atmosphere is nice, clean and comfortable seating

The food was not outstanding but definitely not bad. While the soups and beef bourguignon were quite good, the steak was okay at best. Their drinks and cocktails were very interesting and unique! We really enjoyed the hi-chew grape shots haha, and our server Rene was very kind and quick to clear our finished dishes.

The fries were actually outstanding. Crisp outside and so fluffy on the inside. The rest of the food was decent too but it really got very mid as we went on chewing. The barramundi fish (from the fish and chips) was not fresh and we needed to use the spiced mayo to cover the taste. The burger was on the drier side and was also lacking something to cut through the monotony. The brussels sprouts were quite good actually but also quite oily. The food started out 4-5 stars but became 2-3 stars by the end of our meal. We were also seated at a place where the speakers were blaring and the music was also not my preference. One upside is the servers are quite attentive.

I had a wonderful time celebrating my friend’s birthday here! From the stylish presentation of the food and high-quality cutlery to the immaculate service and the vibes, every detail was perfect. We ordered the Fish and Chips, Prawn Malfadine, Duck Confit, and Pork Ribs—and each dish was outstanding. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, while the duck and pork ribs were exceptionally tender and flavorful. The malfadine was just as delicious. We also thoroughly enjoyed the thick, hearty mushroom soup, the complimentary set lunch sourdough, and the amuse-bouche. A special shoutout to Remu, Xin, and the rest of the team for the attentive and warm hospitality. To top it all off, they surprised us with a complimentary brownie cake with ice cream for the birthday girl, which made the celebration extra memorable. Thank you to the entire team for a fantastic experience!
