I ordered chilli ban mian takeaway. When I reached home, I realised the ban mian didnt have chilli seasoning at all. The ban mian is just boiled with the vegetarian ikan bilis and the soup. It is so bland. Did the staff forgot to add the chilli seasoning? Also the only reason why it is slightly red is because I added my own chilli sauce at home to make it actually have flavour (i forgot to take photo before I put the chilli sauce). Been a frequent customer to dlife already, quite disheartened to get such food, previously the pickups all is good, just today's one....

Been patronising this shop since 2018. They have an overhaul of staff over the years. The past staff were friendly and nice. The staff in the photo is very rude. Every time I come, I need to see her face. What is this?

My mom is a vegetarian, so whenever we take her out to eat, we always go to her favorite vegetarian restaurant called D'life. This place is incredibly popular; we always see lots of students and our Indian friends there, all coming for their delicious vegetarian food. The menu is extensive, offering both Western and Chinese dishes, even vegetarian versions of the kids' favorites like pasta and chicken nuggets. They also have heartwarming hot dishes like Bak Kut Teh and herbal soups, all cooked to order. The restaurant is often short-staffed because it's so popular. Luckily, there's a branch near my house, and my mom always enjoys it. Their sweet and sour Kung Pao Chicken is authentic, my son loves their mushroom soup, and I especially love their stir-fried dishes—the ingredients are fresh, healthy, and not greasy. The atmosphere is great; the staff are friendly, and the overall vibe is relaxed and laid-back. The decor is simple, and sauces and utensils are self-service. Although the prices are a bit high, I think it's totally worth it for the quality.

Update (March 2026): Re-visited with friends today and D’life continues to impress with their consistency! We explored more of the menu and found some new favorites: Nasi Lemak: Surprisingly good for a vegetarian version. The sambal was above par, the peanuts were perfectly crunchy, and even the mock "anchovies" had a great texture. Hericium Satay ($8): These are a must-try. The fried hericium (monkey head mushroom) had a wonderful bite and paired perfectly with the savory peanut sauce. Mutton Curry ($10): Another pleasant surprise! The curry gravy was thick and flavourful, The "mutton" (mushroom) was chewy but not tough, and the portion was very generous for the price. D’life remains a dependable, high-value spot for hearty vegetarian "zi char" and local favorites. Previous review: Had a very pleasant and satisfying meal at the D'life branch along Chun Tin Road. The restaurant offers a wide variety of local and zi char style vegetarian dishes at reasonable prices, making it a great spot for a casual meal. We tried a few of their popular items: Roasted "Chicken" Rice: A solid rendition of the local classic. The "chicken," made of crispy beancurd skin, had a lovely texture, and the rice was fragrant and well-cooked. It came with a standard clear soup and chilli sauce. Claypot "Chicken" Cube Rice: This was served hot and sizzling. The rice was nicely infused with the savoury dark sauce, and the mock chicken cubes, mushrooms, and vegetables made it a wholesome one-pot meal. Sweet & Sour Abalone Mushroom: The fried abalone mushrooms were the star here. They were crispy on the outside with a satisfyingly meaty bite, and coated in a well-balanced sweet and sour sauce that wasn't overly cloying. Olive Fried Rice: A simple but well-executed dish. The rice had a nice fluffy texture and the distinct, savoury flavour of olive vegetables, with good 'wok hei'. The papadum on top added a welcome crunch. Yuan Yang: The hot Yuan Yang was served in a classic kopitiam cup and had a comforting, balanced flavour of coffee and tea. Overall, while no single dish was mind-blowingly spectacular, everything was well-prepared, tasty, and offered great value. D'life is a dependable go-to for anyone looking for a hearty and affordable vegetarian meal.

I am reviewing this based on the feedback from what I ate and what my vegetarian in-laws ate. This is a traditional Chinese vegetarian(no onion, garlic, leeks) casual dining place. I had the mee goreng, they had the chicken “Gken” rice and Nasi Lemak, we shared a bitter gourd omelette plus two old-style almond milk drink. Overall bill was around an affordable lunch at 32 sgd Some comments on the food: I like my mee goreng better than some of the non-vegetarian ones, I think it was the Wok-hei that nailed the taste. My in-laws were quite surprised how big the portions were. They compared this outlet with the previous experience at the Toa Payoh branch. They certainly prefer this Beauty Branch for the size and the taste. ( I am not so sure if they are that different, maybe it is old people thing) Overall excellent Mee Goreng and Gken Rice and Nasi Lemak. Staff was always cheerful despite the busy lunch hour. Sorry I show menu instead of my poorly taken photos. (The place is like 25 to 50m from the Beauty World MRT, next to a big parking lot that is forever busy)

16/4/26 Kung Po gken cubes were soft. I prefer the air fried ones for crispiiness. Spice level was good with dried chillies. Would've been better if ginger and cashews were added. Dumpling noodle soup Dumplings were good. Noodles were soft not too starchy. I asked for less salt and added pepper to it.
