Chung Cheng Chilli Mee at Golden Mile Food Centre is a popular hawker stall known for its bold and comforting bowl of chilli mee. A regular queue forms during peak hours, a testament to its long-standing reputation and loyal following. The star of the dish is the house-made chilli paste, rich with dried shrimp, belacan and garlic, delivering a deep umami flavour with a gentle heat rather than an overpowering spice. The noodles are springy and evenly coated in the savoury sauce, ensuring every bite is flavourful. Ingredients are generous and varied, including tender pork ribs, fresh prawns, tau pok that soaks up the sauce beautifully, and slices of fishcake for added texture. The combination creates a hearty and satisfying bowl that feels both indulgent and balanced. A light, slightly herbal soup is served on the side, helping to cleanse the palate between bites. Affordable and filling, this Michelin-recognised stall remains a must-visit for those exploring Golden Mile Food Centre and craving a unique, nostalgic Singapore hawker dish.

Saw the Michelin Guide signed and decided to check this place out. I ordered the small bowl of prawn noodles dry version, which came with a pork rib, a prawn, fish cake and sliced egg. I went with the dry version for more flavour. The noodles were well coated in chilli and had a nice punch. The soup on the side leaned more towards peppery than prawn flavour so the prawn flavour wasn’t very distinct. While the taste was good overall, the portion felt a little on the small side. Would love to see a slightly bigger serving and a broth with a stronger prawn essence.

Ordered $4.50 chili mee. Came with one bouncy prawn and 1 rib. Some fish cakes and taupok included. Godly Taste. It is so flavorful and shiok yet not overwhelming chili. Lip is numb but still feel like having more. Soup. Msg or not this is one flavorful soup. Compliment the noodle well. Pros Mee pok very Q and Al dente. Cooked just right. Can be consumed alone or with soup. Ingredients. Prawn was bouncy. Pork rib very suckable. And actually can be consumed whole. Might not be the most tender. Tau pok soaks the chili well. Cons Is $4.50 but still ifeel it is slightly pricy.

Tried the two popular picks here and I’m impressed! • Laksa: The broth is really nice—not too heavy or oily. It’s a cleaner, more refreshing version compared to the usual creamy bowls. Love the use of pork ribs instead of cockles! • Prawn Noodle (Dry): The star of the meal. That signature chilli paste is super fragrant and thick. It coats the noodles perfectly.

Order the dry one as the soup is a little wierdly sweet and not prawney. The noodles are cooked very nicely, coated in the chili sauce which is more savoury salty than spicy. The ingredients are meh, the prawn having the fake jelly texture. Tasted old school.

Had ate at this stall for many years. Although had Michelin Guide 2024, do not taste as good. Bought regular size ones for $5.5, and was not much, shrinked. 2 x Prawns tasted and looked like those pre peeled frozen ones. Pork rips and soup still taste as good.

As far as I can remember this place has been here for a long time and famed for their dry chilli noodles (you can choose which variants you want). They also sell laksa or a soup version of the dish.

Ordered chilli mee large portion @$6.50 Nice and savoury. Chilli is very fragrance, not too spicy. Comes with 3 prawns, decent size, fresh and crunchy. 2-3pcs of ribs with soft bone which is very tender. Egg and taupok are nice side ingredients.
