I decided to give this place a try, especially since I stumbled upon it during my recent visit to this particular hawker centre. The hae mee or prawn noodles were above average, but unfortunately, they just didn't quite have that punch to truly take them to the next level. While the soup is undoubtedly delicious, it feels slightly lacking when compared to other establishments that can truly elevate this to a top-tier level. However, I must commend their offering of a wide variety of Ngo Hiang, which consistently arrive fresh and genuinely delicious. Their chilli sauce, in particular, is truly exceptional. It's drastically different from anything I've encountered before and adds a distinct layer to the overall experience. In conclusion, the overall quality of the place is simply outstanding.

Hae! Mee — Old-school comfort, big prawns & bold flavours! There’s something deeply comforting about a good bowl of prawn noodles — the kind that tastes like home, rich in umami and nostalgia. That’s exactly what you’ll find at Hae! Mee, the latest concept by the Bai Nian second-generation team. After their successful first stall at Chai Chee ESR BizPark, they’ve now opened a second outlet at Marine Parade Central Hawker Centre, bringing their hearty bowls to the east side! Prices start from an affordable $6.90, with options like Prawn Noodles (Dry/Soup), Mixed Organ Noodles ($8.90) and Mixed Organ Prawn Noodles ($9.90). But if you’re a true prawn lover, the Signature Big Prawn Noodle ($11.90) is the one to go for — two palm-sized prawns, pork slices, prawn paste balls, and crispy pork lard fried fresh on the spot. Each prawn is fresh, meaty, and bursting with sweetness — they even thoughtfully provide disposable gloves so you can peel them mess-free. You can also choose from kway teow, yellow mee, or bee hoon, and even get a free 30g noodle add-on! I opted for the dry version with chilli — the noodles were springy and coated in a homemade savoury sauce with a spicy kick that was absolutely shiok. It’s paired with a side bowl of soup that’s rich, umami, and deeply flavourful, having been simmered for hours with prawn shells. Every spoonful was a taste of nostalgia. If you prefer a comforting bowl, the soup version doesn’t disappoint — light yet full-bodied, it’s the kind of broth that warms both heart and soul. You can also add on ingredients like liver, intestines, pork skin, or even prawn paste for a heartier meal. What makes the Marine Parade outlet special is their range of handmade Ngoh Hiang — available only here! Their platter includes crispy prawn rolls, yam rolls, prawn pancakes, prawn youtiao and more — perfect for sharing. All their sauces, from the sambal to the dips, are homemade too, which really elevates each bite. Hae! Mee captures the flavours of old-school prawn mee while giving it a fresh, modern touch. Whether you’re craving a spicy dry bowl or a comforting soup, this is one spot that’ll have you coming back for more. Hae! Mee @ Marine Parade Central Hawker Centre — Big prawns, bold flavours, and the taste of nostalgia done right.

The texture is on point — though personally, I prefer skinny bee hoon over the thick version. At $6.90 for four prawns, it’s quite a good deal. The prawns are super fresh, and you can taste the difference. Order the dry version so the sauce is flavourful, and the chilli has a nice kick. The soup is packed with umami and delivers a punch on the sweet side but tasty — definitely worth coming back to try the soup version next time. That said, the ngoh hiong and the fried fish pancake on the side were a letdown. The portion was thin, pricey, and honestly not worth it. Just take a look at the photo and you’ll see what I mean. 2 stars⭐️⭐️ for this side kick thing. Just too thin n hard for $2.50 one small prawn cake. Can’t taste the prawn too. Just stick with the prawn noodle will do

New kid in town. One of the better prawn noodles in town, located in Marine Parade food centre. Fresh ingredients are used. Freshly peeled prawns that you can taste the freshness. Crispy fried shallots & fried pork lard that add a crunch to the dish. Prawn soup was intensely sweet, while chilli sauce lacks of umami punch. For $6.90 you can get a basic but pretty nice bowl of noodles with four whole prawns with head & tail intact. 30g of additional noodles is free if you fancy a heartier meal. For improvement, wish it comes with some bean sprouts or kangkong for more crunch & balance meal. Expect queues during meal time. Overall satisfying meal. Parking at HDB multi storey carpark which could be packed. So patience needed.

Instagram worked. On a drizzling Saturday morning we ventured to check this out. The story is important. The food is even more important. It is the star of the story. Prawn noodles review: prawns are genuinely fresh - like really fresh and not frozen prawns used by many restaurants. The soup is potently rich, fresh prawn and mildly sugared that punches through the palette. Noodles are a little overcooked and soft, that’s forgivable, it will take a while to get the texture right. Ngoh Hiang review: Delightful presentation. Wait till you take the first bite with the chilli. Heavenly as I slowly enjoy the taste and aroma. No longer rushing. Everything slows down. Overall. A decisive 5 stars. Improve on the noodles and it becomes 6 stars. ✨

This is Hae Mee's 2nd outlet, with their own ngoh hiang (outlet exclusive) Their noodles are available in soup/dry version, with the choice of yellow noodles, kway teow, bee hoon. We tried these dishes: Signature Big Prawn Noodle (S$11.90) - dry, mixed yellow noodles/bee hoon Mixed Organ Prawn Noodle (S$9.90) - soup, kway teow Prawn Noodle (S$6.90) - dry, yellow noodles Their last noodle option (which we didn’t get) is Mixed Organ Noodle (S$8.90). We preferred the dry noodles over the soup noodles, as unfortunately we found the soup to be bland - it did have prawn flavour, but it could have been much richer. I didn’t get a chance to try the noodles at their first outlet, so I’m not sure if it’s a consistency issue (or that’s how their soup tastes). The dry noodles were better, but somehow the chilli (which the noodles were tossed with) tasted a bit like mala chilli, rather than Singaporean sambal chilli. The texture of the dry noodles were just nice - you’ll need to eat the soup noodles quickly (since it absorbed quite a bit of the soup). The prawns were all fresh, and the jumbo prawns were really big - the dish also came with a pair of plastic gloves (convenient for eating the jumbo prawns). My favourite part of the dish was the pork lard - all still really crisp even after shooting/being soaked in soup, it was tasty with the dry noodles! The dry noodles also came with a small bowl of prawn broth (similar comments). We also tried their ngoh hiang, I liked that they had a variety of handmade items: Crispy Prawn Cracker (S$2.50) - generally my favourite ngoh hiang dish, this was crispy and nice (I think this is not handmade) Prawn You Tiao (S$2.50) - this handmade item was a nice twist to the usual you tiao (stuffed with their handmade prawn paste) Fish Beancurd & Ngoh Hiang (S$2 each) - these were also handmade, pretty tasty! I was glad I had CDC vouchers on hand, as it softened the blow of an underwhelming experience. The Hae Mee broth deviated significantly from the traditional flavour one expects, and the Ngoh Hiang was oily and unremarkable. In the end, the meal was so disappointing that I left a significant portion behind, as the photo shows. Given the price point of over $S16, the quality was not justified, and in Singapore's competitive F&B scene, they will need to improve.

Tasted @haemeesg, the Singaporean prawn noodle spot and it was a flavourful experience! 🦐🍜 We had their Signature Big Prawn Noodle, Mixed Organ Prawn Noodle and Mixed Organ Noodle in both soup and dry versions. Each bowl was packed with bold flavours, yummy toppings and a rich, savoury broth. Also don’t miss their super addictive chilli dip with Ngoh Hiang — the perfect way to complete the meal.
