Zam Zam Restaurant

Zam Zam is located on North Bridge Road. It is directly opposite the historic Sultan Mosque in the Kampong Glam neighborhood. A 5-10 minute walk from Bugis MRT station. We were intrigued by the amount of reviews in Google. Consumed by the curiosity, we decided to try it. We ordered: Fried chicken biryani Mutton (lamb) biryani Mutton (lamb) murtabak Teh tarik Teh 'O' limau Although the restaurant was packed, it didn't take long for the food to be served on our table. The waitress was friendly and told us some helpful recommendations. We saw the chef made the murtabak from scratch. It was a pretty convincing that it would taste good. And we tried it, it was actually true. The murtabak was tasty and slightly flaky and crunchy on the outside. Moist and meaty on the inside. The rice was aromatic and fluffy. The fried chicken was flavorful and tasty. The mutton was tender and melt in your mouth. There were 2 bowls of complimentary curry on the side. We were supposed to eat the rice with those curry drizzled on top. It was divine! Later on, we even drizzled it to the murtabak. The murtabak was so delicious, we ordered another one to satisfy our appetites. In conclusion, it's worth the hype. Although the dining area was not the most comfortable one, but the food was too good you won't even think about it.

Visited the famous Singapore Zam Zam and, honestly, I found the food quite average. The Sup Tulang Merah was so-so, while the Nasi Briyani Ayam was nothing particularly special. Considering how famous this place is, I expected much more. The experience at the cashier was also disappointing. The cashier looked totally unfriendly and did not seem pleased when I chose to pay by card. It made the payment experience rather uncomfortable. Overall, I personally didn’t find the food or service worth the hype. Perhaps it’s more about the fame and history of the place than the actual dining experience.

Good address for Indian food. They offer Indian curry and several Singaporean-Indian dishes. Quite difficult to eat if you are not open to unfamiliar dishes. But it’s good for me, ordered Tulang Merah, I like the soup, the lamb is difficult to eat, it was too big and no knife to cut the meat. A dish here is big, 1 per person is enough, relatively cheap for a Singapore restaurant. There’s an air conditioner room on 2nd floor. The place is not so small, but they arrange the tables too close to others, not so comfortable feeling.

We had two adults and two children, so we ordered... Lamb Murtabak Special: S$14; Chicken Murtabak Medium: S$10; Chicken or Beef Biryani with Spiced Rice: S$8.50; Venison Biryani: S$14 (optional if you want something different); 4 cups of Teh Tarik (pulled tea). The whole meal was estimated at around S$41, about NT$1,100, which is reasonable for four people. The Murtabak has a crispy outer layer, filled with meat, egg, and onions, and is eaten with curry—something relatively rare in Taiwan.

Came here with my family—some of them ordered nasi briyani and loved it so much. ​As for me, I always go for the murtabak. It tastes great with plenty of meat on top! Just a heads-up: make sure you order at least a medium size or larger if you want the topping, as the small murtabak doesn't come with it. The sup tulang merah was good too, though a bit chewy. ​This is my favourite spot whenever we're craving murtabak. Usually, we just order via drive-thru. Best murtabak eva!!

In the Arab quarter, a place with street seating, a first floor, and a second floor (the latter with air conditioning). They're quite well organized: one person takes your order, another brings your drinks, and a third brings the food. We ordered two murtabak (chicken and sardine) with two teas. The murtabak were delicious. They come with a sauce. Simple place. Friendly staff. A simple but tasty meal. Highly recommended.

I went for lunch on Saturday and surprisingly, there were seats available without a wait. I ordered whatever looked like what was going on next to me, and it all turned out pretty good. It wasn't amazing, just okay. But it was a nice experience. The environment was quite clean, although the service wasn't great. It's worth a try if you're in the area.

Although the staff were all rather intimidating-looking, they helped me with ordering even though I don't speak English. The lamb biryani I had was delicious. Since there are many locals there, it's best to be careful not to be a nuisance by going in a small group.
